You will have to fight alone a while, NavyTiger.
Even though it appears that I am in the presence of a rare group of people that have never done anything wrong, their holiness doesn't translate well over the 'net. I still feel the need to go to church.
Anyway I would rather go someplace where indiscretions have a chance of being understood and forgiven. Which is not the case here.

No worries, dude.

Take it easy.

Honestly I can't remember breaking it either.
I always feared being reprimanded if I did.
Imagine that.

Yeah I would want to serve under him too if I was enlisted. No rules so the joes love him. However, not an effective fighting unit.

I think it sucks anyway you look at it.

Keep it in perspective if you've never been on an organized college atheltic prgram.
Rhetorical question.
If one played under Curley, was it really a college athletic program?

I kid, I kid...

I think the big thing with this is with Les Miles. This was a slap in the face by sr players whom he thought respected him. They can cry and say they are sorry but respect is out the window.
So any promise to start or give time to those players to prove themselves on the field have changed.
Instead of coaching Les now has to spend time with legal/ school rules and issues not directly related to football.
Now other team violations may have to be dealt with more strictly, which can cause other team unity issues.
A coach can run a rigid program and get this slapped in his face.
I feel bad for Les and the players who made the choice to take a chance.
I know a player from the Orange Bowl game against Nebraska that is still pissed that the sr players stayed out all night and some missed or were late to team meetings because they were talking to agents or sleeping. Of course it was they're last game so they didn't care and knew they would be punished. He claims sr. the players now regret it.

I spent a year in Vietnam and would have gladly served under him there. Come to think of it, I would have preferred him to the O-3 that I did work for.
And you. Once again, no thanks.

Two words...fighter pilots.

I meant to say that just bc you've been dealing with something for 40 years doesn't mean you know more than someone who is younger and studied a particular topic intensively.

Agreed.
Here we were preparing for the outcome of Russell Shepard... And then we find this out.
Was shep there? He's on the unity council.

I wouldn't care at all about the curfew thing had Les not been telling everyone who would listen how much JJ had "grown" and how he is accepting his leadership role. Obviously that was nothing but a bunch of Miles double speak nonsense.
I don't blame the privates for sneaking out of the barracks. I blame the sergeant for not locking the doors and posting a guard.

Something told me that the calm before the storm was just a little too calm during the summer.

Based on what? What you know about him from an anonymous message board? Give me a break.

dude these are legal adults in college. Some of you need to get a grip. I wonder how many hypocrites are on this board
These are adults with scholarships to the school they chose to play football for.
My problem is not with the curfew, but what happened after the curfew. They decided to do some shite and should pay for it...hence the reason for a curfew. What kind of example are our seniors setting to the underclassmen?
I'm in the military as well and I've seen my share of guys breaking curfew. Most of the time it's not a big deal because people are just trying to have a good time. They still get punished though if caught, but not as severely to those individuals who decide to do something dumb (like picking fights, breaking other countries laws, etc...)like these football players did.
