My son who I’ve been trying for, for over 10 years finally was born yesterday! He already has his LSU on! I will forever teach him the love for LSU and the reason for living and bleeding purple and gold! He was born 8-18-21 and I find it pretty crazy 8 is the number passed down in baseball and 18 is the number passed down in football! I can’t wait to watch my first game with him in 2 weeks!

Just thought I’d pass the news because I’m over the moon about this guy!

Sorry about all the exclamation points but this is the most exiting time in my life ever

I love my kids, but for all 3, when they were born my immediate feelings were not excitement, but "damn this is going to be a long 6 months until I get any semblance of sleep." I wish I felt your enthusiasm right away.

Mine just turned 1 month. If anything, I've gotten more sleep than normal. My wife was the one setting an alarm to feed him every 3-4 hours. He typically had to he woken up to eat. Now at the month mark, the doctor said to let him sleep through the night if he wants. So he's been going 6-7 hours. Dude likes to sleep.

Hey man, I guess it just hits different when I’ve tried for 10 years, and my wife (no pics) was told she only had a 5% chance of having a baby because of female problems. Yea it will be work but I have prayed for this dude and never thought I’d ever be a dad. Never thought it was possible, I thought I was a blank thrower

Yeah. I'm sure that makes it a bit more special than it already is.

I took two weeks off of work. Whenever I wasn't working he had a routine of not wanting to go to sleep good around 10ish. I would take him at around 11 and we would go chill and watch tv. Whenever I was ready to go to sleep around midnight he was down for the night. That "bad" spell only lasted a week or so. Now after that last bottle he's passed out.

First off congrats on the kid! That is always an exciting time for parents and especially after waiting for so long!

But second, congrats on not letting the difficulty come between you and your wife. I have watched friends struggle to have a child and to say it was stressful would be an understatement. And that was only for a year or 2 max, I couldn't imagine 10 years.

Once again, congrats and enjoy the journey! It goes by wayyyy to fast. My oldest just started kindergarten and it feels like I was changing diapers yesterday.
