I heard Kenny Guillot called Lsu recruiter (cant remember his name) and told them he had a punter they need to come see and give a scholarship too. They said Kenny you know we don' t give punters scholarships to which he replied you are going to give this kid one. Just get your arse out here or nick is going to grab him for bama. Before the game they put four of those flag girl flags out past forty yards and told wing to hit the flags with his punts. He hit three of them and kicked a several 50 yards punts in the game. A few weeks into the seaon last year heard that Lles called him and said thanks for the punter got any good linebackers or some shite like that. The rest is history.

The second it left his foot I almost lost it. We were sitting behind him so it was hard for everyone to tell how far it was going to go, and they all looked at me like I was crazy for a split second. Then they saw it land and they lost it.

He will leave early
I agree.
I was talking with a friend last night trying to figure out if a punter has ever left early. Couldn't think of any.
Am I missing someone, or would this be a first??

I was sitting at the top of the south end zone and could feel the wind blowing hard. I told myself no way we flip the field with these breeze. Holy shite he may have punted that one 75 yards in the air without the wind.

Wing makes me want to punt sometimes. I never thought that was possible but I look forward to it from time to time now.

That thing was gorgeous.
It was. Some were saying the other Aussie had a stronger leg, but wow, Wing is sooo dang accurate.

just think once this offense gets in sync on the passing side and eliminates the drops we may be wasting his talent because we will not have to punt. I have to admit I use to get up and grab a drink on 4th down... not anymore.

kid is just a ridiculous punter
ray guy is the only punter i've ever seen that is as good and i think wing is better at the shorter punts that go end over end and often die inside the 5 yd line.

Yeah, it was a strong wind which is what made the punt so great.
Remember, the wind was blowing so hard that just before that, Washington's kicker couldn't tee the ball up for the opening kickoff. It kept blowing off the tee.

Just watched Drew Butler, (punter with the Steelers), Brad Wing a kick against the Broncos

The uniqueness of Wing's punting is that he has multiple punt types and control of every one of them.
The first one he kept lower than usual to keep it as much out of the headwind as possible.
He has the end-over-end kick for pooch punts.
Of course he just knocks the hell out of the ball when he has a full field to kick into.
Most punters train themselves to punt the same way no matter the situation for consistency. Wing has the uncanny ability to execute the type of kick he needs when he needs it.

Negative bro. He was kicking into the north end zone and the wind was going into him. I can picture the big AMERICA flag pointing into the stadium.

im not disagreeing with you that the wind above the stadium was blowing out of the north but on the field on that particular kick it was blowing with him
.... bro

Brad Wing's first punt
we should be kicking to the return man instead of trying to down it inside the 5 in order to give the punt coverage team some practice in a real game in case we need that against Bama...
