I guess Goody in the pen means that Cotton has taken over the closer's role. I wouldn't want to bring him in today if we are planning on using him tomorrow to close out the regional? No need to show Oregon St that he will throw 90% fastballs.

This ump has a terrible strike zone, I'm not sure Cotton would be a great option in the 9th. You can throw right down the middle and this guy wouldn't call that a strike. And Cotton does have a lot of break on his pitch.
