Anyone think that CPM knew Gaus would get into these high pitch situations and let him pitch a few complete games late in the year to prepare him?

No you wanna keep him fresh I think. He knows he can go 120 if he needs to, but pitches wear on a pitcher. Its a long year and keeping him fresh for this is more important.

Great at bat by Nola. Fields gets out on the first pitch of the innings, then Nola takes a few pitches, and works a full count walk.

No. He was right at 100 in those CGs. He just didn't need to come out. I don't think there was any design to it.
