That's been out for a while
They have us playing Michigan too, so they can have the "story". I bet the broadcast would have tidbits of Les Miles and his alma mater going the entire time.

@ralphDrussoAP: I stand corrected.RT @laurakeeley: Chick fil A: Georgia-Miami. Russell Athletic bowl in Orlando: #Duke vs. Louisville

ESPN dictates a lot of the bowl matchups regardless of what teams want. They are partnered with the Gator Bowl.
I GUARANTEE YOU that ESPN wants an LSU/Michigan matchup and the Gator Bowl is the most obvious spot because Michigan isn't going to the Outback again.
That's what's going on here.

I like an LSU vs Michigan matchup better than LSU vs Iowa.

That's why it makes the most sense.

frick the Outback Bowl- they continually pass us over. I think all LSU fans should boycott their restaurants.

Nothing wrong with beating the dog shite out of legendary all time arrogant yankee Michigan in the first meeting betwix the two in some random bowl. Make it so.

I'd be fine with going to the Gator Bowl if we get to play Michigan. But if we play Minnesota

All I know is that LSU fans will be ready to run Joe Alleva out of town (if we get passed over again by a team with a worse record, that we beat head to head). Not sure Alleva really has much he could do about it, but our fans will still blame him.
They should blame him. I know that in the end their is nothing he can really do. But at least raise some hell and represent the team and fanbase. Don't just sit there in a corner like a pussy and say nothing.

Yea LSU Michigan is fine with me.

Georgia vs Miami in Chick fil A
I think that's a great matchup
Even without Murray.

I do too but Jacksonville is Atlanta-bad.
LSU fans barely traveled to BR this year. Gonna be a tepid turnout in Tampa, Jacksonville, or Atlanta.

This is my problem with Alleva. Even if he can't do anything, at least make it look like he's going to bat on LSU's behalf.

Last year was Alleva's fault. He dicked around and let the Cotton Bowl screw us.
The deal is this: CapOne, Outback, Peach and Gator are all either partly-owned by and/or partnered with ESPN. ESPN is dictating this--not the SEC and the individual bowl games. And they don't want Mizzou, so Mizzou will go to the Cotton Bowl (which airs on Fox). That leaves ESPN to manipulate the best possible matchups with aTm, LSU, UGA and USC. LSU/Michigan is their most-desired matchup and would be an easy sell. But Michigan went to the Outback last year and they have been to the CapOne like a gazillion times. So they're dropping LSU and Michigan to the Gator and giving the Outback Johnny Football and an UGA game in Atlanta as a consolation prize.
Now--watch all of this change.
