I know there is a ton of football left to be played so this is very premature.

Hypothetical 1) If Bama wins the SEC Championship game over the SEC East and gets invited to the BCS championship game, does the Sugar Bowl get to pick who they want from the SEC or do they have to take the loser of the SEC championship?

2)Same situation, is there any way that the Sugar Bowl would ever pick a SEC team with an equal record over LSU?

They pick who they want. Doesn't have to be an SEC team, but it always is and it always will be.

There was a "choice" in 2010, although Arky won head up.

Let's say LSU beats Bama, but then loses another SEC game which results in Bama going to the SEC-CG and beating an undefeated (until then) UGA team. Sugar Bowl might take UGA under those circumstances, particularly if LSU loses a game late (like Arkansas) to send Bama to Atlanta.

All three teams would come out of the season with 1 loss, but UGA might be a more attractive option for the Sugar. All things considered, the Sugar would like LSU, but there is enormous pressure from the hoteliers to pick a team that travels well, but will need hotel rooms. The bars and restaurants have basically said, "LSU is our first choice" because of the money it generates for, really, that whole New Year's weekend.

Traditionally, the Sugar Bowl has kind of shyed away from LSU given the choice I believe. It's not as financially rewarding for New Orleans for LSU to play in it. I'm not sure if it's still viewed this way - just my two cents.

I do believe that was once the case. I personally dont think so anymore. No facts just my opinion. Tiger fans seem to go down to New Orleans on package deals etc. and fill up the hotel rooms anyway. Again , I dont have proof just an opinion.

What happens if we lose 3 or more games? Will our fans follow the team to a less than attractive bowl game after having such high expectations for this season?

Pretty shitty if they don't. With all the players lost I don't think an SEC or BCS championship should be the expectation any longer. 10-2 is a great season considering the circumstances

I tend to agree, although I think our issues on offense go deeper than just injuries and suspensions.

I'm not so sure the fans would travel all that well to a second tier bowl game. They haven't in the past. We were 10-2 in 2005 and our fan turnout at the Peach Bowl was not very good.

I don't think a 3-loss LSU team that is neither the SEC Champ, nor the SEC West rep, will get strong consideration under the current BCS system. Once we go to a 4-team playoff, that analysis may change.

I agree. I don't see us getting a BCS bid with more than 2 loses.

The Capital One bowl is probably the best we could hope under those circumstances.

Nope.
