Bonvillan as the Sunday Starter

not sure if I'm a big fan of him being in this position. I understand he hasn't been in a starter role yet in his career but having to dig into your bullpen in the 5th isn't good and could lead to stuff like this. I understand its early in the season and we may have no better options, but we need to find a guy (maybe BB will become this) who can give us 5 or 6 solid innings and keep the pen at bay until at-least the 6th.
not trying to bash bonvillan but I'm not sure if the starter is his best role.

don't bring that here LSU will start to hit better this season, we have a good lineup just a young one. AS shown from games where the wind doesn't blow in we have some potential in this lineup.
but still no matter how bad LSU is hitting we need a guy who can give us I say 5 ot 6 solid innings and have the ability to go atleast 6 or 7 if need be. Maybe bonvillan is adjusting to the new role but I don't like what I see so far. He is a good pitcher but I rather see him as a LR rather then a SP.

Hard to be upset with 1 run given up in 4 and 2/3.

ge pitched well today I just rather see a longer outing. Oh well I'm sure CPM is doing what is best. Pen just needs to do better next time.

Doesn't really matter. This team CANNOT hit and the approach at the plate they have been taught is horrific.

Neither is anyone else.
The 3rd SP is what everybody has been talking about since before the season even began.
Nobody knows who to put there, but McCune is not an option, and nobody has ever been fully comfortable with Cotton or Bonvillain.
Given that it is February, I would really like to see the freshmen out of HS get more IP. I think it's a mistake that Devall, Newman, & Reynolds only have 4.3 IP between the three of them, and that Sewald & Butler have no appearances.

And as soon as I post, here he comes...

glad we got time to work this out. I hope we can find someone who can be a good 3rd starter, if we find one we will be hard to beat this year.

I actually think their approach at the plate is pretty good

Damn. Hunter Newman is one lanky, awkwardly moving teenager of an athlete.

another thing we need a better effort out of our pen I know we have a couple of injuries but 6 runs out of the pen is horrible and hopefully bad pen pitching on sunday isn't a pattern.

I said after they each made one start that Glenn will win the Sunday spot soon. I still believe that.

Russell Reynolds wants it more.

There is a reason he never started last year. He needs to stay in that role.

Bonvillain would be a great middle relief guy or a guy who can come in and hold down a team when a starter has a bad game. Just not a good starter.

Glad youve made that decision after his 1st 2 career starts

After watching several scrimmages this Fall and Spring, I don't see any freshmen pitchers helping this team as a weekend starter this year. I believe spot relief is the best you're gonna get out of this class. None of them looked anywhere near being able to compete in the SEC. Not even close.
Joey Bourgeois may end up our best option on Sundays.
