One thing I really like about this hire is that there won't be any lackadaisical let downs like what happened at Ole Miss! As Plumlee torched us, Aranda was just acting like no big deal...no concern...who cares. It was the players, like Jacoby Stevens that got them fired up on the sidelines. I guarantee you that Bo won't put up with that kind of play. He'll be in their ear. Aranda was too laid back.

Exactly. If people dislike pelini for other reason I’ll accept that...but the being “away” is a POOR excuse. They run spread and RPO concepts in the big 12 B1G and also FCS.

Seems to me that Coach Oeaux has made some pretty good hires, except Canada, which he promptly corrected in spectacular fashion. I'm more than happy to leave this one up to him as well.

I agree and if we had hired a young up and coming coach there would be people complaining we hired a guy without a track record.

Pelini runs a more aggressive defense than aranda. You’ll see more blitzing. As long as we can create pressure and he leaves the backend of the defense LSU style(press man bully coverage) we will be fine

Yea I’m not sure what that guy thinks of aranda. I think aranda is a top notch DC...I just personally didn’t like his style and fit at LSU. Don’t time wrong he’s top notch...I just prefer an attacking little zone in the backend press man billy defense like we have grown to love here at LSU. I understand that you live by the sword you die by the sword but...give me the sword ANY DAY. The thing that’s been depressing is that our defense has scored literally no points as of late. I miss those plays. We had ZERO defensive TD that stayed on the board this year and only a safety.
Let’s get real...we won’t have Joey Burrow every year and those defensive TD knock the wind out of the opponent. If we can couple that with an ACTUAL offense it’ll be another level.
