Stats don’t always tell the story. Barrow was terrorizing UFs line all day long blowing up protection. Now add his teammate Tyler Baron who has been an absolute monster.
Barrow is a massive improvement over Suggs and Tyler Baron is a better edge than any edge we have including Saivion.

Pray we make it to week 6 without another loss +.

We are paying the going rate for the 25 recruiting class. If you stock up on portal guys, you don’t get as many who might actually stay for 2-4 years.
See this year’s FSU squad for how the portal merry-go-round eventually works out, even when you are pretty good at managing the portal.
I would have been good with one or two key players from the portal to help this season, but I like that the staff is focused on and paying for recruiting going forward.

and their impact will be minimal for 2025.
Building a foundation on elite talent is always going to a better way forward than the fricking portal. It’s not like there is a mountain of data showing teams teams with top 5 recruiting dominating the BCS and playoffs or anything.
The only exception was TCU. What happened when their luck and shitty conference schedule finally ran out? They snuck up on Michigan, but UGA showed everyone the obvious- there are no fricking shortcuts.
Now that NIL is smoothed out, it’s time to focus on recruiting and then keeping those guys here.

Have you thought of where the money is going to come from. When NIL really hits it's stride, schools like Texas, Texas A&M, Georgia, Michigan, Ohio State have far wealthier almuni pools and deep pockets.
Figure this out: Paying 10 mill for an HC and 10 more mill for a staff is 20 mill. Paying for 105 players at 1 mill a player and your 20 mill in salary bills go to 150 million odd a year.
Can a state and fan base like that come up with that year in year out.
This is now a money game. Geography, being in a talent rich state just does not mean anything anymore.

Where will the money come from. Can we afford it.

I assume you’re talking about the DT transfer that ended up at Miami, in which case, you’re completely off base here. He wanted game changing QB money as a mediocre DT. Don’t care what the depth chart looks like right now, that’s a smart call to not agree to that kid’s terms. That’s what gets you in a situation like Miami is currently in with their collective in jeopardy of drying up.

time. who? The guy this is a reference to is Damonic Williams and he has 4 tackles at OU vs Houston and Temple. Gio Paez has 6 tackles.
Some of these guys are pathetic as much as they cry

The context had little to do with simply shelling out large dollars. What he was really talking about was making sure that dollars are used intelligently for players that fit your system and culture. Not just buying five stars for the sake of buying five stars.
Looking at you, TAM and FSU

Things I trust more than keyboard warriors on the Rant
1. Coach Kelly
Caveat- unless it’s the first drive of the season and we have a chance to kick a FG.

There are players who will only go to whichever school is going to pay the highest amount. I don't want those kids. Too immature and too likely to be selfish and not give very good effort to LSU once they get on campus with however many million dollars.

Name them and the contribution "they" have made on their current teams.

Its not about not paying players, its about WHO NOT TO PAY.If a kid comes
for a visit and he`s all about the money and shows he doesn`t care about
anything else ,you pass.Alot of fans forgot about A@M and their debacle
2 years ago.Thats what just paying players does.
