Dallas did the same thing all night and we just never adjusted. He threw breaking balls away to righties and in to Morgan. He stayed down in the zone pretty well too
Another great point! Dallas found what worked which was staying way down in the zone and to his glove side of the plate where the catcher could frame a little better and was getting the calls. His command was impressive and the consistency that he could throw that cut fastball was just MLB level. The LSU hitters who couldn't pick up the cutter out of his hand should've adjusted up in the box. Bianco did fine against Dallas. I guess he was picking up the spin better than anyone else. Gotta give the pitcher credit for finding what worked and just dialing it in!!!

Haven’t hit good pitching all year. Didn’t hit the kid from Gonzaga last week. We do a lot better when we get into a team’s third and fourth starter
No shite, Sherlock. That's the pesky thing about "good pitching". Not many people hit it. That's kinda what makes it "good pitching"

if Hilliard gets rocked by the third time through the lineup you would be bitching that Paul left him in too long… LSU fans want everything both ways….
Bare with me bc this may be WAY, WAY outside the box type of thinking BUT how about you let Hilliard start the 6th & see if he’s still sharp & getn outs, like he did in the 5th? If hes not or Tenn has figured him out or he gets in trouble Then you can pull him!
That doesn’t seem all that difficult to understand. Let ur guy pitch until he’s tired or in trouble, then replace him. Why in gods name pull 1 of ur best pitchers & ur starter while they are still effective? Makes no sense but CPM has continually & repeatedly made these type of dumbass moves for YEARS w/o being able to give any type of reasonable explanation afterwards for the move!

#1) Tennessee has a better coach.
Tennessee has better players
Tennessee has a better team
LSU players made mistakes, overrunning 2nd base easy tag out, not tagging the runner going to 3rd base throw a rain delay in your own locker room which I am sure is nicer

1) we are not very good

My biggest take away is hitter 6,7,8,2,3 cannot hit with any sort of consistency, I Leave off 9 because our catcher is an absolute stud behind the plate and his arm and defense make up for the sub 200 avg

Usually the 3rd time through the lone up the eta goes up that was the reason for pulling him plus Coleman threw really well his last outing I get why he pulled him and out Coleman in. You’d be bitching if he left Hilliard in and he gave up those runs also so damned if you do damned if you don’t

Tell us why he is a better coach?

Well that’s an upbeat outlook!

Guys Tennessee has a better baseball team! Coach Paul is fine!

1. Pulling Hilliard was a complete misfire by Paul. Yes Coleman eventually settled down and was effective and yes the defense let him down, but it totally changed the dynamic of the game. Hilliard was rolling. The pitching change effected the flow and momentum of the game.
2. We can’t hit. They basically gave us the second run. Haven’t hit good pitching all year. Didn’t hit the kid from Gonzaga last week. We do a lot better when we get into a team’s third and fourth starter as we saw last weekend. And Tennessee is better than those two teams last weekend. Only chance we have to pull this off is for Marceaux and Labas to be lights out.
Same shite, different players and year
