I just attended an LSU luncheon and learned that Big Woodrow's is no longer "welcoming" to the LSU Alumni Foundation. Apparently, Big Woodrow's got bought out, and the new ownership refuses to give LSU Alumni the same drinks specials, etc. as in the past.

New LSU Alumni spot is apparently Christian's Tailgate on White Oak. Just thought I'd pass it along.

Christian's Tailgate has some amazing hamburgers.

Frick Woodrow's up the arse if the don't treat LSU folks special.

It would be interesting to see if there is a revenue drop off on LSU game days

Probably the best in Houston....their blue cheese burger is awesome!

Last game I went to there was the Ole Miss time clock debacle

I was just thinking how the frick is it going to stay in business without LSU. The place is a run down old dump in a shitty part of town. Christians Tailgate is a cleaner newer bar that I can actually feel comfortable leaving my car at over night.

Last game at woodrows was Ole Miss last year. and my car got broken into during the game.

This is good news for me. I live less than 5 mins away from Christian's Tailgate. Big Woodrow's would be quite a bit further.

uhh not at all. it's good but there's several better

but Christian's location alone makes it way better than Woodrow's IMO

No suprised, most cities 'LSU bars' rotate because the LSU patrons typically don't know how to conduct themselves like adults and the owner gets fed up (obnoxious, sneaking their own beer in, etc.). Sad, but true.

Well seeing that this is due to new ownership this is a pretty moot point to bring up in this thread...

I'll continue to remain loyal to Little Woodrow's in Midtown despite this slap in the face. Big Woodrow's wasn't all that great, but they did provide cheap drink prices.

Big Woodrow's has been an LSU bar for over 10 years. Clearly you have no clue what you are talking about.

Little woodrow's and big woodrow's have always been under separate management. So all little woodrow's are ok.

Makes sense, Little Woodrow's is much cleaner and doesn't look like it needs to be hit with a Jon Taffer nuke.

Went to Christian's yesterday for happy hour for the first time. Had the shrimp tacos and couple of sliders. It was pretty good. And two of the chick bartenders I saw were good looking.
