If I were an O-lineman or D-lineman, I would be offended by this classification. Is it is feaux pas for Songy to use this term?

This is why we have the pussification of sports.

This term has been around forever. Would you be offended if they called them Hogs?

I'd rather be a "big ugly" than a "pretty boy" like the QB's get.

I suppose you did not know that is just for defensive players. The OL players are smart and good looking. Someone needs to explain this to Buddy.

1- "Ugly" could mean that they are ugly because they are fat or because they are ugly/mean/beat the shite out of, other people.

2-

Honestly, in football culture it is used affectionately.

If you're capable of plying on the line I assure you wouldn't be offended. It represents the nitty gritty, straight up nasty side of football... Every team I ever played for (4diff high schools) the o line and d line had the closest bond to their position coaches than any other position. And everyone of them called the players "big uglies" And I didn't even play on the line and could see that.

1st its been used forever. 2nd this is football. Not golf.

Take a hike, PC police.

This is what's wrong with America. Too many people get offended like a little girl.

"Big Uglys" or "Hogs" are acceptable terms for O-Linemen or D-Linemen. Last year people were referring to the O-Linemen as "pigglets." Now that really is hurtful if you are a lineman.
