"I don't know that that's important to be honest," Miles said after putting his team through a 30-play scrimmage on Thursday morning. "I think as long as the guys know what they're going to do in a game, and the decision's made early enough so that the players are very comfortable with what we're going to call. I think that's the most important piece. The announcement's always secondary."

One of the few times Miles made a dramatic announcement at a press conference concerning which of his quarterbacks would start was last year on the Monday before the Auburn game. He named Harris the starter on the strength of his play against Mississippi State and New Mexico State over the two previous weeks. And that start did not go well. Jennings started every other game that season.

"I mean, you guys just want the drama of the announcement," Miles said and launched into a friendly but mocking, deep baritone. "`And now there's going to be an announcement!' And you guys rustle your cameras and get them all focused in. This thing's going to happen. We're going to make a decision, and it's going to be the guy that gives us the best opportunity at victory. I think both guys have really improved, and I want to see it play out."
