Shaun Alexander would be my pick.
Number 2 would be Rex Grossman in tiger stadium when he was a freshman. He dissected our defense all night long.

Only 2 td's, but I remember him galloping all over the Cotton Bowl like a runaway gazelle.
That's because his TDs were both long runs after catching essentially bubble screens. That being said, one of the greatest effort plays I've seen out of a Tiger defender was one where Williams had caught another short pass and was taking it downfield. After a substantial gain and seemingly only one man to be (a DB), Bradie James chased him down from his MLB spot up near the line of scrimmage. It wasn't that Bradie had that much speed, just that he didn't give up on the play and sprinted to catch up to Williams who was having to pick his way downfield.

Excellent point on Bradie. I just remember Roy's running. I also had to sit in the same living room and listen to my damned Longhorn sister scream over my hangover. Not a good family day.

Shaun Alexander
In the past I usually could make one or two games a year and this happened to be the one.
but that is past history never to be repeated

I was at the game. It was freezing cold, early as Hell, battling my own hangover from New Year's Eve celebration, and then having to endure that. Brutal.

Has to be Quincy Carter in 1998. He looked like a Heisman candidate @ Tiger Stadium.

Darren McFadden is the guy I'm thinking of. He single-handedly lost us the title shot in 2007. so we thought.

Darren McFadden and his side kick made us look really stupid few yrs ago.

He demoralized our defense.

I just watched the highlights of that 07 Arkansas game. Holy shite our defense was craptastic that game. McFadden and Hillis killed us. I saw all kinds of mistakes that you don't see with Chavis around.

Chavis is a great DC. I was never a Pelini fan. I thought his defenses always underachieved.

Roy Williams-2003 Cotton. Vaunted Saban secondary/defense. Single handedly won that game.
1 carry for 39 yds TD
4 rec for 142 yds TD.
We had some injuries/attrition that year. Michael Clayton played some safety that game.
Cam Newton beat a very good defense.

Sabah played bump and chase single coverage all day...

Cam Newton....
and, as painful as this is to admit....
AJ McCarron.... on 1/9/12.
He threw pinpoint passes over TM7 and Eric Reid and made them look like rookies.
Moved Bama into field goal range all night long, and that was all he needed to secure the w and the BCS title.

Shaun Alexander?
Is this even, really a question?

Alexander was a freshman in that game who had barely played before the LSU game. The Lsu defense had shut the bama running game down until he was brought in. I remember thinking that they were so desperate that they were sending in freshman running backs. The LSU crowd was pumped for the Tigers to beat bama for the first time in DV since anybody could remember.
Then frickin Shawn Alexander commenced to running around the left end and running the length of the field for I don't remember how many touchdowns. That bastard damned near single handedly beat LSU that night and sent every one of us who sat and watched him do it home in an extremely bad mood.
Alexanders performance that night will follow me til the end of this incarnation as the most devastating performance by an opposing player that I have ever witnessed in Tiger Stadium.

Gotta go old school for you young punks.
Oct. 3, 1987 Emmitt Smith carries 32 times against LSU and rushes for 184 yards and two touchdowns.
