It's only stupid when the dunk is missed. Apparently, Martin can do this pretty easily with confidence. Now, if it was in the final game to win the NCAA championship with LSU down 1 and he had a break away with 4 seconds left and pulled that crap.... then it would be stupid, make or miss.

ok, it wasn't hard because Kobe and Lebron did it in high school...2 of the top 10 players in the history of basketball...

I actually think Quaterman's alley-oop the next play was better. Should've been an and 1.

Great play, but lobbing Quarterman from the three point line took some serious nerve. Patterson made an absoloute perfect pass on that one

And for everyone saying that Jarell shouldn't have tried that, apparently CJJ agrees

Incredible play by Martin. Certainly seemed to energize us before the half.

Perused all 5 pages and didn't recall seeing DeWayne Jay Scales (late 70's) mentioned. Had some impressive dunks in the day.

This isnt true. Not everyone in the NBA can do a east bay.

Yeah, that's why you see that dunk so often in games. So stupid...

You see Jabari's dunk in every basketball game that has a dunk in it. He did a regular cock backed dunk off of one foot. Faking behind the back doesnt reallt lower your success rate. Martin going between the legs most certainly lowers his success rate.

I agree the timing and atmosphere of Jabari's dunk was greater.

Right because so many 6'10 guys are agile and athletic enough to do an east bay during a game.
You see nba players miss that dunk when no one is even in the court.

ETA: if you think Martin's dunk was easy, then Jabari's dunk could've been performed by an 8th grader.

that is absolutely the most fricking retarded thing I've ever read in my life. it's incredibly difficult even on a 7 foot goal for an above average athlete

Exactly. I dont think he knows our awkward and clumsy most 6'10 people are.

I would like to see you (and anyone else) try a regular dunk and then try a behind the back fake & dunk (without the defender) and see how equally successful you are. Also, speaking of really tall guys being awkward and clumsy...Jabari was 6'11.

Both were great slams and very difficult moves. Martin's may have been tougher, but Jabari's was difficult as well.

Stalking you?
You followed me to the SEC Rant you moron..
You bitch about LSU like they owe you money...

A double dribble in basketball occurs when a player stops dribbling the ball and starts dribbling again or when a player dribbles with two hands simultaneously.

So you must still be 5.

Only on the Rant would people try to downplay a dunk that got us a 3 min highlight on the primetime Sports Center. That one dunk has gotten LSU basketball more air time than any of our games this season.

Top ten number one tonight on sports center. Just like any other risky play when it works! Great highlight but not best shot selection.

Probably still better than some of the 3s we take though...

All Jabari did was cup the ball and dunk. He didnt reverse. He didnt tomahawk or windmill it.
He just dunked.
Martin did an east bay. The degree of difficulty between the two is huge.

Agreed.

Not for a 6'11 guy. Again, he didnt add anything to the dunk. Its a 6'11 guy jumping off of one foot and dunking. Thats easy as hell for a guy that tall.

That dunk for Jarrell is like a layup for everyone else. There is no chance in hell he was missing that dunk. He's too high. No, everybody in the nba cannot do that dunk. Jarrell has just been doing it since high school. When Kobe won it 96 that was the dunk and he barely had the rise to get it down. It has nothing to do with height. Because
you gotta do that dunk on your way down. Mickey would never try that dunk in a game. Jarrell is just high, especially this year -but pretty much everybody should know know that by now if you've been paying attention. It's hilarious to me how that dunk has been getting so much national news. Most of the time when Jarrell dunks he's still on the way up. Johnny wouldn't give a shite if Jarrell did a backfljp on a dunk lol- that boy is all over the cup. The dude is high. If you let him load anywhere near the rim it's over.
