Everyone has such high praise for Warrick, but be careful what you say before you actually meet someone. Not nearly as good of a guy as many may think. At least from my personal experience. Yes the guy is a professional athlete and he deserves the benefit of the doubt, but I have met him on a couple occasions and he was an arrogant POS both times.

I have met Warrick multiple times and he lives up to the billing. He is a great human being. He has done so much for te Baton Rouge community especially through habitat. I worked on a habitat house and then found out that he was funding it, but didn't want the public to know so it wouldn't be a media spectacle. He is very giving, while still being very humble.

Gotta be Warrick Dunn. Man it was tough being an LSU alum living in Florida watching FSU go 43-5-1 from 1993-1996 with a kid from Baton Rouge playing RB for the Seminoles while LSU struggled through the Hallman and DiNardo era.....and when i finally think that frustration will come to an end FSU signs Minor to pick up right where Dunn left off in 1997.

There was a pretty good RB from Baker back in the early 90s. Can't remember his name but he went to Tulane then spent some time in the NFL.

Played against Warrick Dunn and Kevin Franklin at Catholic. They were beasts. Franklin was better IMO in high school, but never made a name for himself at LSU.

There's been quite a few baseball players from the Baton Rouge area NOT go to LSU which is pretty suprising. Quite a bit from those good Central High teams the McClures played on (Weiss, Arteta, etc.)

Gerald Sowell. He was Baker's QB but he ran more than anything. He was a fullback/running back at Tulane. He was he Jets starting fullback for about 10 years.

Minor (Player of the Year) was the most celebrated to leave BR at the point of graduation and go somewhere else

Kevin Franklin was the more decorated on that CHS team - he was parade all american i believe

but Warrick will be known as the greatest success our of BR that left

It is Baton Rouge ........West Baton Rouge !!!

It's always included in the metoplitan area and Port Allen is closer to downtown BR and LSU than most residential areas of Baton Rouge and definitely closer than most residential areas of East Baton Rouge Parish.

Okie Woods did not have a bad career at Tulane, not on this list for sure, but does not deserve to be laughed at....

He was greater in High School. He was fast and hit the corner very well. Dunn was more shifty.

I also know Frank Alexander went southern lab and now plays for Oklahoma, as a fresham in 08 he was All-Big 12 honorable mention by the AP. And set to be a 3yrd starter as a junior. Also his teammate Chris Brown,(Running Back and leading rusher in 08) I think was from somewhere near Baton Rouge.

I played against them, and agree KF was the more feared player in HS but WD certainly has had more long term success.
