Everyone has such high praise for Warrick, but be careful what you say before you actually meet someone. Not nearly as good of a guy as many may think. At least from my personal experience. Yes the guy is a professional athlete and he deserves the benefit of the doubt, but I have met him on a couple occasions and he was an arrogant POS both times.

You must have cuaght him on a bad day or something. He is a private person who has been through one of the most horrific experiences life could give you and came out like A GREAT HUMAN being. PLUS EXCELL at FOOTBALL!!!!!

Not Dunn caliber, but Rufus Alexander went from Christian Life to Oklahoma and ended up being the big 12 defensive player of the yr.

I'll answer your question. Even though it isn't part of the topic.
In reality, he is one of the few and I mean few that was pretty good 25 years ago that came from JC.
There really hasn't been that many from JC.
It is just a system that works very well at JC.

ill have to say sammy williams.when warrick dunn was 9 yrs old and a 3rd team rb on a south baton rouge ram team.the 1st team guy was sammy williams.a straight beast.he ended up a 2 time all state wr-db from baker high back in 1990.had like 12 td from kick offs.and when baker lost to ruston 38-13 in the q-finals.sammy williams had a punt return for a td and a kick off to the 5 yard line that set up td that led to a 13-10 lead over the 1990 ruston football team.back then when all star teams mattered. he had 2 touch downs in the all star game and was the 1990 mvp.texas a&m led for his sig. but a drug addiction got him.ask around to the guys in that era and they will tell you how special he was.

ask warrick dunn about him.they had a friendship.he had it all.the moves.the swagga.baker even beat catholic that year with williams getting the best of dunn because of playing both ways in 4a which was the highest class then.sammy williams is maybe the best football player who didnt make it to the pros who should have.a ed reed clone.

Travis Minor was another good one, but not quite Warrick Dunn's status level

Minor was better in high school (one of the best ever). Dunn was better in college and the NFL.

I'm not saying that he was the best player from B.R. not to go to LSU . But compared with some of the nominations and after almost 40 posts , you would think that 1st round draft pick and Super Bowl MVP Doug Williams might get a mention. fyi: When he finished high school LSU was recruiting blacks.

But then I remembered this is the Rant where the world was created in about 1985 !
