That is my big concern. In game coaching and half time adjustments, We just don’t have enough data base to have conclusions about Benford.

And Izzo can really work the refs. His presence as a proven coach may affect the referees more than an interim coach that nobody knows.

What little I have seen and heard from Benford he seems to know what the hell he is talking about. The schemes Wade put in are still being used. People exaggerate the in-game coaching importance. Basketball has not changed appreciably in years. Sure, I would love to have Wade but Benford can handle it.

If we are gonna get hot from 3. This would be a perfect time to get it started.

If it comes down to whose better, then I would say I hope the Tigers enjoy their off season!

Maybe so. But it sure took a long time in yesterday’s 2-3 zone to quit jacking up 3 point attempts and letting Tremont trying to penetrate. Finally Smart started penetrating to slow the comeback.

You can bet Izzy saw LSU stall against the zone. If LSU gets a lead, we’ll see it. Our ability to beat it will determine if we can win that game.

I just have a gut feeling that they start off in zone and we sub in days and Graves and we get hot from 3 forcing them to play man and then our athleticism takes over.

He sure didn’t know what to do when Maryland threw that zone out in the second half.

We should’ve attacked the rim get #25 and #23 in foul trouble. Which both were in the first half.

Why is that surprising? It’s a well known fact we have more talent they just have more experience

Agreed. They had Naz at the high post, which I liked, but the other 4 players were all on the perimeter standing still.

Consequently there wasn’t good ball movement and they never got the zone out of position.

That back door oop will be there all day against a zone. I’d throw it as soon as you see zone.

We know Wade is an analytics guy, so I'm sure the coaches were aware how little Maryland played zone all season, and it caught us off guard.

Now with nearly a week to prepare, I'd imagine the coaches will work on a game plan in case Sparty shows zone.

I haven’t seen a difference when Wade is coaching and Benford is coaching. Both teams get big leads and let the opponent get back in the game and make it interesting. This team is solid in winning close games and if it’s close towards the end, I like our chances.

FWIW, Iowa was down 23 right before half to Tennessee and cut the lead to 1 with 3 mins to go.

Currently a tie game.

If I have a point, it's that the problem isn't unique to Wade, Benford or LSU.
