Essentially. He's saying they are not playing smart. Can't argue with that.

Watching the basketball team is almost like an extension of watching the football team. We play down to the competition, almost every game is uncomfortably close, we have an absurd amount of talent, but we struggle with execution. Furthermore, neither Miles or Jones show any emotion on the sideline. That's not necessarily a slight, I'd just prefer our coach show a little bit of fire here and there.

Agree 100%

Had this exact same discussion with my dad last night.

What you just explained sounds exactly like execution problems ...

That's exactly what I've said in my posts. Not Johnny fault these guys can't shoot free throws worth a shite.

No, it sounds like coaching problems. Not having a set inbounds play is a coaching issue. It takes 5 minutes to teach one. In half an hour, we could have six to draw on at any time we needed. We have zero. That's a coaching issue.

Auburn has 3 good players. That's it though. The rest of their roster is rough.

We're like one player better than that.

Apparently not.

Ben Simmons is gonna save JJ's job next year

Doubtful that JJ's job will be in jeopardy next year to start with. He's in the good ole boy network and that's way more important than actually producing results.

Be careful not to be too presumptuous. This team still has work to do to earn a bid to the NIT.

Jones coaches like a clown.

Agree 100%, but not because...

He refuses the call timeouts

Actually, not calling timeouts is probably one of the smartest things he's doing. For one thing, he doesn't have the first clue what to tell them during the time out, so what good would the time out do? Also, calling time out gives the other team a chance to benefit from the helpful advice of their coach without having to use their own time outs. Finally, calling time out means we have to execute an inbounds play after the time out is over. Why face that nightmare scenario for a timeout that is basically useless (and maybe even harmful) anyway?

I wholeheartedly agree with Johnny Jones never calling time out unless there is an immediate and desperate need to stop the clock.

I thought it was odd that Jones blew his last two timeouts during Gray's free throws. Almost like he was trying to ice him. Left the team nothing for any problems on an inbound play.

So you really honestly think that we don't have drawn up inbounds plays? Lmao. That's 7 year old basketball. Just because they looked like shite doing it doesn't mean a play wasn't there. So every time a ball is turned over it's because of coaching? Lol. Come on get real.
