We were young last year to excuse losses. I guess they think that excuse still has life left in it this year.

Looking around college football, many of the good teams seem to have no issues rolling up offense on their tomato can opponents.
Because the great coaches understand that if you execute at the highest level, your opponents can know it's coming and not be able to do a damn thing about it.
Add to that those opponents are so focused on stopping what you do well that they're completely caught off guard by things you haven't shown them. Here's the trick though, you have to execute your basic offense well in the first place for the surprise stuff to work well.

I'm gonna give the staff the benefit of the doubt and believe that we purposely kept the playbook vanilla vs SLU.
But if it's the same crap Saturday,

You mean to tell me that im supposed to believe what they tell me instead of what I see them do?

We have heard O & E talk about implementing every different type of offense into this offense
It's the blind leading the blind. If anybody thought that these two were going to make any significant changes to our football team to bring us back into championship discussions, then you are ignorant and naive.
The team is back to about where we were during the Dinardo year. I wouldn't be surprised if we get similar results from O next year as we did from Dinardo his last year.

Dude that's a bit of a stretch. We never had this much talent under Dinardo - so if we finished the same then O would be significantly worse than Dinardo -

I believe the band will play Neck

So you believe the coaches didn't hold anything back with respect to formations, schemes, play-calling for next week's game? And, that's all Ensminger has in his playbook to run??
So is it your stance that the coaches kept things simple, and only used part of the playbook? If so, our players couldn't execute the plays they were given; partial playbook our not. This is a problem.
If we see a different offense against Auburn, will the players execute that offense? That's the question here.

Spot on. LSU is in trouble.

Good point. But they are the same caliber of coach.

or maybe they DID run everything, but they will make some stuff up this week!

is LSU the only team that still "hides" things against shite opponents? Its' always next week maaaaan they are really going to open it up!
It's just another simple excuse to for O to use when things inevitably don't work. He does it over and over again.

Yeah. That was a lnchbox response blaming me for the state of LSU football. I appropriately called him a dumbass and moved on.

That's a pretty comical interpretation of what happened.
But props on the dedication to come back to this thread hours later hoping I wouldn't be around to defend myself from your stupidity

I traditionally say you run all your plays in your playbook, there's nothing better than game time execution. That being said, with the pass blocking being as bad as it is, I do think there are certain pass plays/formations/personnel that aren't being run because they are needing to max protect with the bad blocking and other team's blitz/pass rush especially on obvious passing plays. I do think you can run plays such as screens(middle rb, bubbe, slip), draws, counters to beat/neutralize the blitz though and we're not running enough of them.
