I was not sold after Katrina, after all, coaching is about wins, not disaster recovery operations. But the fact that he was so calm and determined and never made excuses, was very commendable. Can you imagine how Stoops would have sounded? There would have been enough crying to require another levee to hold back to tears. Even Mark Richt, a nice guy otherwise, would have worn out the pity pot.
The Les Miles I saw on many of the talk shows after the '07 BCS was a very witty, savvy interviewee. But, when was I sold on him? When he said "have a great day" in Atlanta on 12/1/07, I bought a lot of Les Miles stock.

I jumped on the bandwagon after the fake punt against ASU. The first series of his first game , and from your own one yard line. I remember thinking "boy this guys got soem balls" and have never doubted him since!!!

After the classy and dignified way he handled the aftermath of Katrina. With the unbelievable distractions caused by that catastrophic event, and how it clearly affected the team in 2005, he certainly got my respect both as a coach and a man. To finish 9-1 with everything that happened then, and in particular to a great many of the players families, well, I don't know what else can be said.....

I was on board after he was hired, because I followed the Okies pretty closely.
I jumped off the bus like my hair was on fire after the post-Katrina Tennessee debacle
but was quickly back on board.
I love me some HAT.

To the douchebags still not sold on Miles, what's it going to take? Does the man have to show up to your double wide and personally give you a handjob before you wise the frick up and realize that he's the best coach LSU has had in the last several decades and that we're damn lucky to have him?
Les Miles did very well with LSU's most talented three year stretch ever, and he ALMOST came out empty handed. #1 LSU falling on senior day against an unranked team with a shot at the BCS title game on the line was a huge red flag. So he did very well for three years with a ton of NFL talent, and last year, his first year without all that absurd talent, LSU falls flat. Also, don't bother telling me it's Peveto/Mallory's fault, because they didn't hire themselves.
Best coach in decades? What Nick Saban did to turn this program around is worth more to me than what Les Miles has done here. Without Saban, Les Miles is not that relevant in college football.

Yeah and Saban lost to a freshman qb at home to a team that was less talented and by a coach that every Florida fan ragged on but still mage it to the bcscg. You are an idiot and I could tell by your picture of a classless Kobe Bryant! You may be as much of a cocksucker as Kobe's bitch arse!

I loved Saban while he was at LSU. I thought he did a fantastic job of bringing LSU back to relevance. I love Les Miles and think he has maintained and built upon what Saban left and even made it better. As proud as I was of Saban as a football coach I was never proud of him as a human being. I am just as proud of Les Miles as an honorable man as I am of his "damn-strong" coaching abilities. Not saying Saban is evil or anything, I just think Les Miles has demonstrated (many times) his honor and integrity in a way Saban never has. I am proud to call Les Miles "Coach" of LSU for lots of reasons. May he stay a long time.

With one loss. How many losses did Les have in his title run?

When people like you insult me over the interwebz with comments like this it really doesn't even bother me. You are obviously not all there in the head, so I'll leave you alone.

This season will definitely be the crucial chapter of Les Miles at LSU. He has managed to recruit the best of the best and make adjustments in coaching when it was desperately needed, but now we have to see how well he manages HIS new talent all-around.
With one or two exceptions, we won't know what kind of class this past years was until 2 years from now. This year we judge the recruiting class of 07. They will be coming into their own this season.

Forget it Client. They are too busy trying to get in front of Paul Finebaum so they can give nick the midget a hummer.

Yada yada yada. See my above post re the smoker line for nick the midget. These pieces of crap are nothing but wastes of existance.
Move to tuscaloser and join the rest of the great braindead.

Funny, the trophy reads "national champions" Doesn't count for any less than the other one. No matter what stupid pieces of shite think.

I do not believe in Les Miles. He is a hologram.

How many losses this coming season would it take for you to apologize?
Hap Glaudi, always said "never fall in love with a football coach or you will be disappointed". I have taken his advice. Miles is just a lucky guy who followed one of the best program builders in college football. To his credit he held it together for three years. We will see.

The fact that you call Nick Saban a midget and have such hate towards him shows that you neither have the objectivity, nor mental capacity to properly argue this topic. You are just another insecure LSU fan that's afraid of Saban and Alabama. Grow a pair of balls where your vag currently is and STFU.

Unless LSU drops 5 or 6 this year I won't be unhappy and I have NOTHING to apologize for, sonnyboy.
On the other hand, how many wins and NC's will it take for all you braindead jackasses to wake up and realize the kind of quality coach LSU has now?
How long before you all stop giving public sloppy blowjobs to nick the midget?
Never mind, all of know the answer is never.

Sonnyboy, why should LSU or any fan of LSU be afraid of little nicky? Hell it took OVERTIME for bama to win the game last year when LSU had average at best qb play and below par defense.
Sonnyboy, your great jump to defend your fantasy lover, little nicky, speaks way more volumes than any put down of him I can come up with.
Like I said, move to tuscaloser if you love little nicky so much. My dislike of little nicky comes from watching him in action sonnyboy. At a TAF fundraiser I watched him insult people who have been contributing to LSU and LSU athletics for longer than your daddy has been alive sonnyboy. little nicky is an a-hole of the first degree. He is a damn good football coach but put that together with being a piece of shite and you have a coach who is lacking in the biggest part of being a coach, humanity.
So, sonnyboy, by all means, worship your fire hydrant sized god. Knock yourself out. But, do not expect anyone who has seen little nicky's act in person to go along with you.

I was sold on Les when he took the sideline at ASU with that Madonna-ish headphone thing.
Seriously though, Les is the man and is a true Tiger. A lot of people may argue that he doesn't know how to coach; he does and that is evidenced by how he took over the offense in the latter half of 06 and brought in Crowton for 07. Les has had tremendous success in his first 4 years, and if he continues at this rate, he'll be bigger than Joe Pa by the time it's over. FEAR THE HAT
