Well said. I also think that with ticket prices the way they are(taf and all) that alot of the blue collar people dont have season tickets anymore( which was our rowdy fanbase). These rich a-holes are too good to get wet.

And BTW, I bought tickets that were going to be thrown away. No one from that whole group showed up at all. My purchase actually ADDED fans to that row. Well, until we left.

Well dont bash people that go to the games and want to leave early. What if they had to be at work at 6am this morning so they could support their family? Are they allowed to leave the game early or is that a no no???

sorry dude, but the game ended around 9:30... If you have to go to bed before 9:30 to get up for work at 6am you have no business attending a football game period.

I'd say 40,000 people have strange work hours. I like how so many don't have an issue saying what the coaches and players should do on every play but take issue when someone tells them they should sit through an entire game. Everyone loves to be a critic I suppose.

I could give a shite less when someone wants to leave, its their own choice. Yall should really stop worrying about what other people do.

what if someone lives in shreveport, or monroe etc., does that make it justifiable? You realize LSU has fans that live outside of Baton Rouge?

You're never gonna win... They are as hard to convince as the morons on the Poli board.

They have a holier than thou complex. It's quite amusing.

So you're saying it's your belief that even if there ws no rain the same number of people would've left?

What about the others? Youre not a true fan!!!

And make sure you only go to the restroom during timeouts, if you go during the game, you are a horrible fan

As we have for 25 years, my husband and I sat until the team sang the Alma Mater. I've never understood Tiger fans leaving early, never will...I share your opinion, but don't think LSU fans are the only ones departing early, it happens in most all stadiums. However, it never ceases to be embarrassing. With the price of tickets now, I don't know how folks justify leaving so early. It's just water for goodness sakes!

I entirely agree with you, Prowl.

Here is what I posted in a different thread:

"quote:

I stood up for the first 10 minutes of the game and was yelled at to sit down by some old fart.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Why in God's name do some LSU fans feel compelled to instruct others to "sit down" at a frickin' football game? I understand that there are some older fans who are physically impaired. I respect their needs. If I find myself in front of such a fan, I will gladly sit down. But that is a miniscule fraction of the fanbase. Most people have the ability to stand.

I really believe that the decline in the intensity of LSU's fans base is primarily attributable to one factor: indolence.

Are the fans so lazy and obese that they can't even...STAND UP when appropriate? Are they so sluggardly that they can't...REMAIN IN THEIR SEATS for sixty minutes? Are they so lethargic and torpid that they don't even have the energy to...MAKE NOISE?

No one is asking these fans to complete an Iron Man or plumb the mathematical mysteries of string theory. All they have to do is come to the game, cheer continuously for LSU, and stay in their seats for three hours. That's it. That's all.

And yes, yes, I realize that it's your money and your ticket and you'll damn well do whatever you please."

Just to throw something in here. My gf went to Texas A&M and I always give her hell about how much more of an intimidating enviroment we have and it was pretty embarassing watching the game with her Sat night her asking were everyone was at. I know the weather wasn't great but I've been to a few games the past few years and the place always seems to clear out early. I really pride myself on our game day atmosphere and hope we can keep the reputation up.

I am SICK and TIRED of the whole LSU fanbase talking about nothing but football season 365 days a year, looking forward to it starting, and when we get to the home opener, half the people in our "feared" stadium leaves at halftime because they don't want to get wet or they want to "beat the traffic". You a-holes that did that last night are pathetic, and I am really glad that ESPNU pointed out all the empty seats.
Couldn't have said it better myself. It is truely amazing and ironic that these fans clamour and pine all year long just for the start of Fall practice and then when the real thing gets here they can't wait to get the hell out of the stadium. And it doesn't have to be raining either. If the score is anything but close against a top team the fans scram like their hair is on fire.
