Bah, that's nothin' compared to Tebow. Hmm, maybe Tebow got a little Bear Bryant in his bloodline somewhere along the way.

That solves it.....Tebow is the second coming...of Bear Bryant.

Question about Bryant(too young to remember)..What was his sideline demeanor? Was he fiery like Woody Hayes, or pretty laid back?

He never got excited he was more laid back. Because he knew he had nothing to worry about they took care of everything the week before in practice. He also did show when he was worried when they got behind with very little time left, sorta like a dear in the headlights. But for the most part he had very little to worry about. His record shows that.

Interesting that Bear's hat in these pictures is NOT a houndstooth design. It looks like simple intersecting stripes.

Didn't Bryant play the second half of a game with a broken leg?

Yes, against Tennessee. That is one of the reasons he placed such importance on the 3rd Saturday in October.

Coach Bryant was a one of a kind. Yes, he had his personal demons, just like the rest of us. But he was a good man, who took care of all those around him. i.e the Bryant Scholarship for the children of the players he coached. Hell, if a kid wasn't good enough to go to the next level, he always helped them find work or get into a professional school of some sort. But he knew and used the adage of the Roman Legion when it came to football.

"Practice should be bloodless battle, so battle will be blooded practice."

So just what did he teach Danny Ford, Howard, DuBose, Pell, Sherill, and Dye?

Group of flakes and cheats and all Bryant's pupils in coaching.

I get it. You hate the University of Alabama, Coach Bryant, and anything associated with them. I guess my answer would be that he told them to use the system they had at the time. Unlimited scholarships, "laundry money", whatever. Your view from this day and time is distorted by distance and anger. Just let it go. The man owned LSU in Baton Rouge, but he always said it was the craziest place to play. Take a compliment, enjoy the pictures and think about how much fun you're going to have tailgating on Saturday for the Tulane game.
