LSU being ranked #4 would be great, but we don't have to be # 4 to get into a BCS bowl. It's just automatic if we are.

LSU has no chance at the Cotton. We played there vs Oregon last year, we open next year there vs TCU. Cotton will pick someone else.
Capital One took Bama in 2010 in exactly the same spot that LSU is in. Well, instead of defending national champs we are defending runner-ups, but close enough.

I think LSU's biggest threat to a BCS bid is UGA. I think FL loses to FSU, big. Their fans don't travel well, their offense is regressing. I think LSU clearly trumps them. UGA -- if they play Ala. close in the SECCG, the BCS might take them over LSU? I don't know. Any chance Ga. Tech can beat UGA?

If FSU beats UF I like the chances of LSU getting into a BCS bowl, which I think FSU will win as they are completely different team at home then on the road.

I think part of that depends on what order Oregon and Kansas State are in the final BCS standings. I think that if Kansas State ends as #1, then the Fiesta Bowl gets the first replacement pick and could take Notre Dame.
