I can't believe some of you are actually dismissing this total embarrassment of a loss as acceptable.

This is an incredibly young team comprised mostly of freshman, walk-ons from last year, and maybe a few other scholarship players. Trent Johnson was dominate with John Brady's players when Brady wasn't. Give TJ some time to get some recruits in and let these guys get some experience. I expect this team to be totally different by years end and we will probably be a decent team again next year.

Rebuilding takes time. We were bottom feeding in the conference last year, the only way we go from that to national title contender is if we fork over $200k on some stud athlete.

You're all callling for Les's head at 9-1 and this is acceptable and Trent is a great coach???

Trent is actually a very good coach (as opposed to Miles). Last year we were in every game except for two (UK and UT) if I'm not mistaken. That was a terrible team and a great job of coaching. I'm not condoning the loss to Nicholls, but if you think that TJ isn't a good coach then you are mistaken.

Have you seen this year's class? It was pretty solid.

Next year's is even better.

When Derenbecker and Ludwig are the best Louisiana can offer for the last 2 years, don't you think that it is a tough situation?

2 freshman have led the team in scoring both games, stringer and turner, stringer and derenbecker. In my opinion the upperclassmen are the ones that need to show up, yes the freshman are talented but they are still freshman, we need to be able to depend on some players that have experience and right now we dont. with all the turnovers we had u would think our freshman would have the majority but stringer had zero turner had 1 and derenbecker had 2, so again its our upperclassmen that seem to be causing the problem JMO

Yes - it is tough.
Who has Louisiana produced lately? Monroe and he went North.
Most of his kids are from outside of Louisiana.
Having 5 year basketball program transition talk is nonsense.

The truth is Basketball is not a priority at LSU. Football is the king. Same at most SEC schools except KY.

why did they keep trying to feed it into warren down low? it produced many more turnovers than points. warren had a terrible game. 2 straight games he has scored the first points of the game but they failed to score 10 points for the game. too many turnovers. too many missed free throws.

Come on folks, it is only mid-November--lots of bouncy ball to be played yet. But Malcolm White needs to develop some intensity, and Stringer can't be passing up shots. Still think by season's end, Stringer, Turner & Matt D. will be a solid trio.

[quote]How did KY do last year with all those freshmen?

1) One they're fricking Kentucky
2) They're coached by fricking Calipari
3) John Wall right now is one of the best PG's in the NBA, so yes he would be head and shoulders against other true freshman PG's
4) We're LSU, we won't get the same stud recruits UK does (3 straight top overall recruiting classes)
5) TJ won the SEC and 13 regular season conference games with a team Brady struggled to win 1 SEC game with(and TJ did it w/o the best player from the year before)

I think we'll be ok. Very young team. Keep that in mind

In order to become Lester "Da'Man" Miles, I think Mr. Trent "I'm Packing my Bags" Johnson has to claim a National Title in his respective sport.

He's just feeling the team out guys. Some of the guys looked tired, and playing again Thursday isn't gonna make it any better for them. We're young and we'll be just fine. Don't panic!

Is this a joke?? How did UK do it with all those freshman? They had the number one and five pick in the draft and five first rounders. LSU will always be a football school. There are very few football schools that can keep up with the basketball schools. Florida, Texas, and Ohio St are the only schools capable, and even they are hit or miss most years. Plus we are the only school that has basketball as a distant 3rd sport.

Until the program is consistent enough to recruit nationally, the basketball program's success will lie on the coach's ability to lockdown the talent the state gives us. Obviously as of late, pickings in LA have been slim. However, talent-rich/highly populated states such as Ohio, Texas and Florida are going to give the "football-basketball" schools listed above a great shot at re-loading on a regular basis. Kentucky is the clear exception with their rich tradition, like Tennessee football is nationally.

Had it not been for Lester, we would be in the same discussion as Texas and UF as a baseball-basketball-football program. However, that won't come for another season or two.

Im sick of the damn argument of its a young team! Hell i guess its the first yr any of them have been on a basketball court. Its an embarrassing arse lost and if this is the direction LSU is going, then it wont be hard to get a great seat in the P-Mac! fricking Nicholl State.
