Fair enough. I really would love for him to prove me wrong, but I think he is entirely out of his element here. He is extremely highly paid and has done nothing with his own talent. We have awesome facilities now and have proven we will pay. A bad coach is unacceptable.

TJ sucks as a recruiter - plain and simple.

You cannot win college games if you suck in recruiting - Period.

He has the players to win enough games to be fricking respectable. O'Bryant, Turner, Hamilton, Hickey, Stringer, Warren... its not like these guys aren't SEC material.

So he can recruit but his coaching sucks?

Sorry but unless this team does something this season, he needs to be gone. It is a disgrace.

Tulane football could be a winner in 4 years with the right coach....

And LSU basketball was right off a recent Final 4 with talent when he took over.

Too many people fall for the "this is a football school" excuse

Read my posts. I haven't defended him at all today But if he gets Gathers he's gonna get next year. Then if he can't win with

Stringer
Turner
Hamilton
O'Bryant
Hickey
Morgan
Gathers

bye bye

These two losses aren't what I would call 'bad' losses. Johnson definitely got outcoached today, but the team is more talented than it has been. The SEC does have 4 top 20 teams right now, which isn't good for LSU, but 3 are in the east.

I think .500 in SEC should be expected.

But, god, Trent just makes some strategic decisions that make no damn sense. How do you not attack Shurna in the post on every possession? How do you not correct the offense against the 1-3-1 after a timeout (he may have, while the players failed to execute, but I would guess not, based on the positioning and lack of movement from the post players).

I am certain I could help this team out as an assistant coach. I definitely have a better grasp of offensive principles than Johnson, and I'd go toe to toe with him on defense, too.

Idk. Hickey and O'Bryant are great signings. Turner is limited but a good college player. Stringer was a bad signing IMO because of how much he limits you.

I don't know much about the recruiting, admittedly but the few games I've watched last year left alot to be desired. His schemes and adjustments always seem to be two steps behind his opponent.

I thought he should have been let go after this past season. Instead they give him a raise and an extension. What they should have done was hire Anthony Grant from VCU when they had the chance instead of throwing their cards in with a career Assistant coach who had limited success bc of the Lopez twins.

wasn't he head coach at nevada before taking over at stanford? he was a head coach for 10 years before coming here. what amount of HC experience removes the "career assistant" label?

You're getting off course. He was an assistant for near 20 years and had two decent seasons each parlayed into a better job. 3 counting LSU.

Is a third 11-20 season going to be enough to save his job? Don't think so.

I don't care if he gets the next Michael Jordan next year he needs to be run. 2 yrs ago Malcolm White was going to be our savior, last year everyone said just wait Johnny O' Bryant is our savior. I'm sick of the excuses.

I honestly don't think his experience matters. His results matter. His results at LSU have been pretty horrendous. That's the part that bothers me.
