t's the same bullshite we always "draw up." Gray just made the right decision instead of driving into three dudes and turning it over this time.

But it isn't a "play" at all. And it drives me crazy.

It was a winning play - so I don't give a shite. We actually looked well coached breaking the press. I was very impressed with that.

Jesus, it is a play. It is basically what everyone runs at the end of the half/game. Get an on-ball screen, penetrate, either lay-up, kick out, or pass to flasher.

quote:

The isolation is quite possibly the simplest play in basketball. One guy gets the ball. His teammates back away, drawing their defenders as far from the ball as possible, and the ball-handler tries to beat his man one-on-one. Every team, at every level of basketball, runs isolations from time to time, particularly in end-of-quarter or end-of-game situations. When there's ten seconds left on the clock and the team needs a basket, many coaches will just give the ball to their best scorer and ask them to make something happen.

Friggin' AT&T... I DVR'd the game because I was at my kids soccer games and of course I forgot to DVR the next scheduled program and recording stopped with several minutes remaining so I don't get to see the ending. Pisses me off. Hope it gets replayed again somewhere somehow. Good win today.

If you want to run a more complicated set play you could run into some trouble getting a shot up if you try to time it to be the last shot of the game. High ball screen attack at around 6-8 second mark guarantees you take the last shot and gives you multiple options instead of locking yourself into a specific look out of a set.

You can't reason with the fans who only know how to constantly bitch about "x's and o's". That's the only basketball phrase they know, and I don't even understand what it's supposed to mean.

When you set up the recording you can hit the button for recording options and set it to record up to an hour past the official stopping time.

it was def a good call to hold for the last shot no matter what kind of look we got in the first 15 seconds or so

Great coaching at the end of the game. JJ subbed perfectly with getting defensive subs in and calling time out and getting his offensive guys in. He drew up exactly what your suppose to do at the end of the game. He had the ball in Gray's hand who was getting great penatration all night. It gives Gray the option to drive, pass to Martin on the roller, or hit one of the 3 spot up shooters.

Great win by LSU today. I was firing off the hip after the UT loss. Great rebound for the Tigers.

Everybody was firing off the hip. This team is still infuriating. We will probably get blown out in the first round of the SECT and then turn around and waltz in the Final 4. Typical Tiger B-Ball.
