I'm very disappointed with our non-conference home schedule. Not one game to get excited about. You'd think that with this outstanding freshman class coming in that we could get at least one game that would get the fans pumped up before the SEC slate begins! Doesn't look like it's going to happen, though, unfortunately.

It looks like there is still space for a game. Don't give up yet. But 2014-2015 will have Texas Tech and UMass at home, at least.

@JonRothstein: LSU will host Rhode Island in Baton Rouge on 1/4/14. Good RPI game for both sides.

I like it. A10 is a good league. Isn't Bobby Hurley at Rhode Island?

I'm pretty sure one of the Hurley's is.

Oh yeah, Bobby's bro. Bobby was an assistant for him, may still be, but may have taken a HC job somewhere. I'm about to look it up.

ETA: Dan at Rhode Island, Bobby at Buffalo.

If we look at each opponent based on last year's RPI ranking, here's what you find:

LSU - 92

UMass - 59
NW State - 85
UNO - 346 **
SELU - 227
St. Joe's - 100
ULM - 308
Texas Tech - 214
UAB - 142
McNeese - 247
Rhode Island - 201

We will also have two more games against Old Spice Classic Teams. With the right matchups, these could easily be top 50 opponents. Of course, these ranking will be completely different but give us a good idea of what we are dealing with.

Wichita State loses 2 starters off the Final Four team. Starting PG Malcolm Armstead and PF Carl Hall.

Sophomore PG Fred VanVleet (ESPN Top 100) will take Malcolm's place running the team. Replacing Carl Hall will be a JUCO PF Darius Carter.

We return most of our team, but lose our leaders. Hopefully our younger guys and JUCO guys can blend well.

I would LOVE to watch a game between LSU and WSU. Both coaches enjoy the game, coach well, and the players play hard for 40 mins.

Here is hoping that games happens. Is in a great recruiting area, Coach Jones coached at North Texas, and we have recruit Dallas heavily also!

The Rhode Island game is a nice late addition. Hope we can add one or two more games.

I think we're about at our max number of games right now. Rhode Island is not a bad addition to our OOC home schedule, but was hoping for a little better home slate.

Don't mean to sound negative, but by next season we will have lost O'Bryant and probably Martin (if he leaves early for the NBA). This was the season to get home fans excited and get them back to the PMAC. It's a missed opportunity.

I have a feeling that we will get to a point where we are reloading and those home games won't be a problem a few years down the road.

You're right, 2008, that our home schedule will probably be beefed up in the coming years, but boy it would have been great to have a couple of strong OOC games in the PMAC this season. As it is UAB and Rhode Island are the two most attractive and UAB was 16-17 a year ago and Rhode Island was 8-21. Along with McNeese, UL-Monroe, UNO, SLU and NW St., that's just not enough to get the fans excited about returning to the PMAC. As a season ticket holder I'll be there for all of them, but it would be great to have 10 or 11 thousand others to come along. I'm just frustrated about this year's home schedule.
