At this point Lee may have beaten 3 ranked opponents already and Mett has shown he can play in trash time.

Lee's done fine, but he hasn't beaten anyone. There are other players on the field. And our offense as a whole is not the reason that we're doing as well as we are, though they are doing well enough.

For the record:

Jefferson's Three Most Recent Games
Rush: 600 yards (4.55 ypc)
Pass: 596 yards (9.46 ypa)
Total: 1,196 yards

Lee's Three Most Recent Games
Rush: 498 yards (3.80 ypc)
Pass: 444 yards (7.53 ypa)
Total: 942 yards

With Jefferson starting at QB, LSU got almost a yard more per carry and almost two yards more per attempt.

Mett can't beat out Lee.

Lee breaks an ankle saturday vs wva.
JJ is reinstated.. ZM or JJ vs uK?

and why?

Fixed

So now you think Mett is better than Lee? Time to request a name change.

Because I don't support your radical beliefs and i actually use facts (like 107th ranked passing attack/92nd ranked offense) (I won't even talke about 2009....believe it or not, 2010 was better..lol)

I use reality.....live in the real world. Whether you like JJ or you dislike him, his results being horrible cannot be disputed....period. You can lay blame...etc. (as we see daily everytime some people commit a crime....it was not them...society)......but the bottom line is that JJ led lsu to an atroscious offense.....near the bottom of the entire college football nation......that is not disputable.

As for you are guessing I don't actually believe that...you are crazy if you don't think either him or his family has been on here defending the guy's stats......who else would be dumb enough to do that...you can't defend 107th in the nation....in this situation, it probably isn't him...but you never know.

If JJ is ready and in proper form, probably JJ. But I'd rather let the coaches make the decision based on their information.

Because he beat out Lee and Mett before the season.

So, clearly the coaches thought he was better.

Again, I find it curious that you guys are so certain and emphatic with this. He was the starter a few short weeks ago, but now he's "third string at best". Bit of a leap, yes?

How far up the depth chart would you put a guy (especially a QB) that hasn't practiced in over a month? Not trying to flame but there is a reason these guys practice everyday whether on the field or film room. If Jefferson were allowed back today, it would take practically the rest of the year to get him back to speed. You wouldn't give Lee's reps to him and that is where the majority of practice snaps go. Also, I coulndn't see cutting the backups reps because after all he is only one play away from being the starter. Other positions win their jobs on the field but QB's win it in practice or out of necessity like an injury. I don't think any of us want to see that happen.

We are 85th in total offense this year. We were 86th last year. We were 45th in scoring offense and are 35th this year. So far, the offense hasn't been greatly improved.

You're right. We've seen Lee play with another year of off season workouts and practices. We've seen him with a good QB coach and simplified offense. And our offense is still not as good to begin this season as it was to end last season.

Please explain this one. LSU had a good game against Texas A&M...backs ran well, JJ played well...etc.....it was however the big 12 and we all know they aren't exactly loaded in defense.

Arkansas was not a good game...so I have a hard time with this one....

Ole Miss had probably the worst defense in FBS last year...period.

You are comparing apples to oranges, and you know this.

That's not what a true fan does. You have to belittle the efforts of the HC because you know what's best for the team.

Well outside of an admittedly long stretch of atrocious play, his stats haven't actually been that bad. Again, on balance, he leads Lee in every major career category (or he did as of last week).

And it's not passing the buck to say that the offensive woes of the last two years weren't solely on him. They simply weren't. In 09, they weren't even primarily on him. We had no run game, a shitty line, and Crowton.

And I don't know whether he's had family on here or not, but I have a hard time believing that you think I'm related to JJ.

ETA: Radical beliefs?

Oregon plays in the pac 12 and they don't play any defense there.

Whatever kind of defense Ole Miss had, it sure as hell was better than NSU's.

Arky wasn't great by any stretch of the imagination, but it wasn't terrible.

On his best day JJ is average.
I could understand if we were talking about an ALuck or KMoore and hell even an A murray.
JJ was the weak link in our offense last season and every statisical 2010 offensive football stat proves this.
It literally makes me have a loss for words why 3-4 of you continually try to make an arguement for this guy.
I honetsly believe if you could snap you finger and call the shots on this situation JJ would be reinstated today and start sat vs wva.

You guys can go sell this "team" and "the best chance to win" bullshite somewhere esle.
The post histories of 3-4 of you (you know who you are) is living proof of this... you are JJ homers and you dont like Jlee. Its fine admit it.

We could be playing bama in the 10th week of the season and not lost a game yet and I could see these same bullshite posts by the same posters popping up on this board.

IMO the VAST majority of this fanbase has moved forward.
At this point this arguement has become foolish and very tiresome.
Evey week that goes by it's just gonna get worse and worse if you continue to make these dumb fricking posts.

Its been posted 156 times by 156 different posters, Ill make it 157.

MOVE THE frick ON.
Just let it go... this desperation some of you have is as apparent as it would be if you just wrote it on a sign and carried it wherever you went.
It was comical.. now its just sad.

I'd like to see him in the rotation. I'm sure the coaches will make some effort to assess his abilities at this point (or whatever point that he returns, if he does) and weigh the positives and negatives of returning him to the game.

To suggest that it would take him a year to make up for the last three weeks seems a bit far-fetched. He's been getting first team reps all spring and fall. You think he's forgotten everything in three weeks, having missed only two games of importance.

Not a good game? Lee completed less than 50% of his passes against Oregon for less than 100 yards and -4 yards rushing. Let's compare teams Arkansas D >>>> Miss State D.

Maybe in FBS. But NSU is not even in FBS.

A&M 2010 D = Oregon 2011 D
Arky 2010 D >>>>> MSU 2011 D
Miss 2010 D >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> NSU 2011 D
