We rdef got outcoached, but that's going to happen some especially against Mullen. However, no excuse for not being more aggressive and getting players like giles off the field.

We do not have enough defensive line depth. We are average at best on the offensive line. Really hurt us in Q4. We have not, been able to pass protect against the good teams for several years now. Anyway. Injuries and roster issues have hurt on line of scrimmage another chance to put a stake in the ground on Saturday Need the Oline to step up Saturday

Right?!?

Aranda’s defense gave up 6 points in the 2nd half Saturday. Unfortunately the offense couldn’t do shite. Surprise surprise.

How many times was a linebacker in the hole and miss the tackle? Answer: Plenty. However seemed like no coaching adjustment for the option

People who blame the loss on coaching don’t know very much about football. I’ve been shaking my head at the over criticalness of posts about coaching.
The only coach I think could have done something different was Ensminger. But I still don’t think he called a bad game. Only problem I had was 2nd and long running plays to the point where it was predictable.

The players have to execute their assignments. The scheme was fine, the execution was not. That’s on the players. Hopefully this fires them up for the Georgia game

He’s had his moments of bad play calling in each game this year.
He needs to be more consistent

Why do we throw the players under the bus for O?

Why don't we have a coach who can work around problems to have at lease a better than average offense? O has been here long enough and has the resources to do better on offense than poorly.

So whatever happened to LSU's defense? Aranda's unit is No. 9 in the SEC in total defense

Which players were out vs UF?

Because whiffed tackles, dropped passes, shitty pass protection is all on Coach O, right?

Guarantee if Les was coaching that game he would be getting destroyed especially for not challenging that spot. I don’t get why o gets a pass. And not having a dline is apparently still les’ fault when Orgeron is the dline guru and has been here plenty long enough is astounding to me.

i heard Matt Flynn the other day.
He had no issues with coaching.
Basically got out played at key points in the game.
I chose to go with MF.

This was a big talking point during the post game. So many people were saying we were out coached. But anyone who was level headed and at least had a small clue what they were watching knew that wasn’t the case.

How many did they give up for the game? Do first halves no longer count?

And it was very lackluster for the D to give up a scoring drive after our O actually got the lead in the 2nd half.

Our D has talent. More than State. More than UK. They did better vs UF than ours. And if you don't believe that, would you trade our D talent for theirs?

Dave needs to get his act together.

Of course they count.

Adjustments were made. The rest can be contributed to player execution.

I think a statement claiming Aranda isn’t a good as we thought is far fetched.
Maybe the players we were so biased about preseason aren’t as good as advertised or predicted?
We’re getting zero pressure on the QB. We’re lacking pass rushers.
We could go on, but Aranda isn’t a bad coach by any means. That was my only point, really.

I'm not disagreeing that the 2nd half adjustments weren't good. But some of that needs to be tempered with why such "2nd half adjustments" were so necessary to begin with.

FTR, I'm not suggesting he's not a good coach but:

a) Any DC can make excuses - not enough pass rushers, players didn't make plays (again and again), etc

and

b) I don't think Dave has demonstrated he's the best DC in CFB in the first half of the season.

I think that's both fair and reasonable criticism.

I have blame for UF loss split 70% players/30% coaches. That was after a rewatch. Lots of blocks, tackles, catches missed in that game. Think the players improve a lot this weekend. Let’s see if the coaches can match the improvement.
