I know that, but they generally let pitchers finish at bats unless they just can't throw a strike. Just thought is was odd, but I guess he's being very strict on the pitch counts.

It's early and still winter time. I have no problem with the pitch counts or when they decide to call innings. I think Jay already knows what he has in Hayden and there was more concern for the new freshman pitcher who was struggling with footing on a muddy mound. Only answer I've got because Travinski led off the next inning.

No he struck out 2 batters his first inning and Travinski got a hit against him to lead off his 2nd inning of work.
