He is another set of eyes. He can watch it just like the pitcher, 2B, SS, and CF. He is there to help the home plate ump on those swings, not to "protect" his buddy by not over ruling him. If that was the case, then no coach should ever be able to argue any call (other than check swings) because he has a poor angle.
Umpires need to man up and make the right call, not protect their buddies.

this is what we couldn't do yesterday ole piss came back and we wouldn't score until we where down and had to score runs to send it to extras

Coaches should not argue balls and strikes. Its bad policy that will only make it worse....
