I agree that Romero is better throwing guys out but if I had to pick I'd take the guy that can block them up better and receive the pitch. I think Pap does that better.
ETA: that doesn't mean I want Pap over Romero in the lineup. Romero should start because his of his bat and Pap's defense isn't so much better that I'll take a .260 hitter over Romero.

That's true. I just have not seen Pap do a better job. I just think the perception of him being a defensive catcher was so strong that it got engrained in people's head

I don't see how anybody can disagree with this. Plus, Pap is currently hitting .233. Maybe he will go on a tear and bring it up to .260. That would be great.
