Despite some high ERAs, coaches can see things that us normal fans cannot. Positive things...as much as no one wants to believe it.
Truth be told, we only need 3-4 arms in the pen more than likely. Its not like we need everyone to be studs. ANd i think we have 4-5 solid arms there
Trust me, I am aware of this. But after LSU lost 2 of 3 last week, we need a sweep this weekend in a bad way. If Gausman was cruising, sure, let him go. But he was getting hit hard for most of the night. He wasn't at his best tonight. You said to let him back out there and if they get a rally to pull him. We only led by 3 runs at the time. What makes a rally? 2 runners on base and the tying run is at the plate. The game was still in doubt. The decision should be based off of what give LSU the best chance to win this game, not to build Gausman's pitch count for later.
Now, if you want to debate whether or not he was the best option to start the 7th, then that's a different topic.
