It just doesn't make any sense.

Nobody gains confidence for bunt hits by doing sac bunts. They are 2 completely different styles of bunts.

Not only that, but Mainieri does not at all encourage players to bunt for hits. It's not his style. He does sacrifices for the sake of doing sacrifices because that's what he learned from his dad.
