I wholly agree. All objective evidence points to us being mediocre while BK is the coach at LSU. I think we could spend less and remain mediocre while boosting a program that has an elite coach and real possibility at championships. Tell me where to sign up for that.

No way. That being said, a separate bonus fund that goes to high performing teams isnt a terrible idea.

The next time you leave Louisiana whether on business or vacation and talk to anyone you meet about college sports, ask them who won the championship in these 3 sports last year:
Football
Baseball
Men's basketball
Very few college sports fans you talk to around the country care one flucking MOLECULE about college baseball.
Most, if not all can tell you that Ohio state and Florida won the MAJOR sports.
Another question. Name me any other major college sports program that invests anywhere NEAR what LSU does in baseball.
It's easy to win if you pour money into a sport that statistically speaking (key phrase here), no other college cares enough to fully fund.
The smart schools around the SEC are investing in the top 2. The result is 14/16 in the men's tournament.
LSU'S dumb arse is investing top dollar in a program that BLEEDS cash in return, and gives us hardly any national notoriety.
If we ever got the basketball going again, it would DWARF the national AND local interest we currently get from a successful baseball program.
This is gonna get a lot of you coon arse's panties in a bunch, but I'm completely correct about this.
