quote:Right. And Auburn '06 was """uncatchable""".
Let it go. It was an incomplete pass, and you can see in the video.
I'm surprised at you.
The video is clear. Not only does it not show an incompletion. It shows an incontrovertible interception. That's why it was such a bad call.
PP's divots made the on field call obvious. Officials ignored them.
Then video replay provided ample evidence to overrule the poor on-the-field call. Claiming otherwise is just silly.

JJ touched the ball while he was of of bounds before the ball was possessed by anyone else. Sorry.

The fact that you can't explain why it was called incomplete.

Are you saying that that is why it was called incomplete?

Well, thanks for allowing me to be wrong buddy.
At least you didn't resort to name-calling because our opinions differ.

Told my wife we had Ritter,
She said HTFDTDT? I agreed.

Even Ritter didn't make that claim.
Nor did the booth.

Was it called incomplete because Jones "touched" it?

Call on the field was that PP did not get a foot down with possession.

That's what I thought.

Doesn't matter.
Do you believe officiating in LSU-Bama games has been even-handed?
Do you think Ritter's crews have been even-handed?
Do you think Mike Pereira is simply FOS re: SEC Officiating?

The point is, your argument is irrelevant. It has nothing to do with anything. You are just doing it to get people annoyed. Even if there was any definitive proof that Jones touched the ball while out of bounds, that is not what the call on the field was.
"doesn't matter"

From play by play write from that game's box score, since it was away it was likely Bama's write up.
quote:
A 2-7 L40 Greg McElroy sideline pass incomplete to Julio Jones (Pa. Peterson). The previous play was reviewed and stands as called on the field.
Peterson at least got credit for a pass break up. But how is that possible if the ball was dead due to Jones touching it? Where was the "dead ball" whistle? Just drop that argument, because it does not hold up to any video evidence or written accounts of the call in the game.
It's okay if you (people on the "Jones touched it - dead ball side of the argument) want to take the stance that it doesn't matter because it is long over with and in the past, but don't come in here and try to rewrite history of how things happened on the field for the sake of your argument.
No one is claiming that discussing this now, six years later, will somehow make a difference. LSU fans have an obvious, and likely rightful, gripe with this play. The 2009 season had a lot of shitty officiating in it.
