quote:Nope. You and other fans and talking media do not understand, that it's not possible.
Alabama can make the playoffs if certain teams lose ranked in top 6 this week and in championship games.
Bama will have zero signature wins, 2 losses, lost their division, and not a conference champ. No way in hell.

quote:The delusional LSU fans or Bama lurkers, do not understand that there is no chance in hell. A 2 loss Pac champ in Oregon or USC would get in, a 1 loss Big 12 champ TCU, a 1 loss non champ Michigan/Ohio St, a 2 loss ACC champ Clemson, a 1 loss non SEC champ UGA, a 2 loss LSU SEC champ.
For the last time… there’s no path for Alabama to make the playoffs this season
2 loss champs will get in over Bama. 1 loss non champs will get in over Bama.
Somebody name me a path without just saying, "there's a path". I bet it's still wrong.

If LSU, Michigan, TCU, USC & Clemson all lose they may get in. Michigan would have to get blown out also.
DO YALL REALISE BAMA IS NOT PLAYING IN THE CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME AND HAS 2 LOSSES??? Do you know what will happen if the committee even thinks of putting Bama in over a 2 loss conference champ? Bama has no signature wins.

Here are the current CFP rankings
1 Georgia 11-0
2 Ohio State 11-0
3 Michigan 11-0
4 TCU 11-0
5 LSU 9-2
6 Southern Cal 10-1
7 Alabama 9-2
8 Clemson 10-1
9 Oregon 9-2
10 Tennessee 9-2
If the teams in bold all lose this weekend, where is Bama ranked? Then what happens if TCU loses its conference championship game? And god forbid LSU loses to Georgia?
I Now it doesn't seem so far-fetched.

As of today, Bama's best win is a 1 point road win over Texas. That's at best 8-4 Texas. If Bama somehow sneaks into the playoff there is clear Bama bias and the committee sucks.
Teams that should be in over Bama
1 loss Clemson (even though ranked behind Alabama right now)
OSU/Michigan loser
2 loss LSU if we win out
1 loss conference champ TCU
1 loss UGA
1/2 loss USC conference champ
2 loss Oregon conference champ

bama lost one game to a gw fg and the other in OT
both away games
i mean that as close as you can get to being undefeated
teams will have to lose in the coming weeks, but considering the committee puts who they think are the BEST 4 teams, i wouldn’t be shocked if bama was there

even if TCU/Michigan/Ohio State lose, they won't drop below Alabama.
TCU with one loss no, but in my scenario, they have 2 losses because they lose the next game and the conference championship. If Michigan loses badly they may, I'd say they will.

They not putting Alabama in this playoff
I don't know what the committee will do but having them at 7 makes me suspicious. If Georgia beat LSU in the SECCG game, like half this board seems to be conceding, they would be right in position to be elevated to 4.
Auburn and Cadillac can do us all a favor and beat those dang gumps.

Zero chance Bama jumps Georgia if they lose. Zero.
LSU beating Georgia significantly weakens any chance for Bama to get in. For all practical purposes, it is zero.

Zero chance Bama jumps Michigan. Zero.
Based on Michigan's resume, a blowout loss will drop them below Bama.

I think if you strip away the name on the jerseys, TCU’s wins are better than anything Bama has. If they only have one loss (unless they get demolished) they’ll stay above Bama also.
Maybe but the committee doesn't do that and, in my scenario, TCU loses the next 2 so are not Big 12 champs.
Here are the teams in the order they currently appear in the CFP with their projected final record in my scenario. This is the final standings that I think could get Bama in the top 4 based on the fact that they only have 2 losses, one in OT by a point and one on a last-second FG. Georgia and Ohio State are a lock in this situation. Which other two do you put in?
These are in
Georgia 13-0 (SEC Champ)
Ohio State 13-0 (B1G Champ)
Need to pick two from this group. They are in order of current rankings. I don't know that the committee will choose Alabama as 3 or 4 here but pretending they wouldn't is sticking your head in the sand.
Michigan 11-1
TCU 11-2
LSU 10-3
Southern Cal 10-3
Alabama 10-2
Clemson 10-3
Oregon 9-3
Tennessee 10-2
Penn State 10-2
Kansas State 9-3 (Big 12 Champs)
Washington 11-2 (PAC-12 Champ)
Utah 9-3
Notre Dame 9-3
Florida State 9-3
North Carolina 11-2 (ACC Champ)
And FTR, I do not expect to see Alabama in the top 4.

Ok. Fine. If LSU loses the SECCG, TCU loses twice, Clemson loses to South Carolina, AND USC loses twice then there is a path. Sure.
