Hmmmmmm... Not meaning to sound conspiratorial or "Machiavellian", but is it possible this was orchestrated by UT's new coaching staff to really interrupt and mess up LSU's perceived pipeline into Tennessee for prized recruits, instead of seriously hiring AT as the new UT GM?
After all, normally these kinds of hires don't fall apart like this, and the result may be to disrupt us from blue chip recruiting in Tennessee, and thus helping UT build their own wall around their state?

Not necessarily. Hebert said that when Stacey Searels (o-line coach under miles in 2006) left for Georgia following the season, he told all of his recruits to stay with LSU and honor their commitments.

I’m not saying I have something against Thomas for doing his job at Ut, or that LSU’s coaches wouldn’t do the exact same thing. But that doesn’t mean that they won’t feel miffed that Thomas tried to snag a highly coveted recruit on his way out of town.

Like I have been saying he is a little twerp!

He is vastly overpaid for a person that doesnt even coach!

He truly believes he is more important than he really is!

You're presenting this like it's fact, but you don't really have any clue what Thomas' involvement was in getting Traore to visit Tennessee. There are many possible scenarios that don't involve Thomas trying to poach Traore, you know?

Tennessee’s head coaching search made Joe Alleva’s handling of Miles/Orgeron look like a clinic on Human Resources management. You’re giving the idiots in Knoxville way too much credit.

Jacob maybe. JaCoby would have probably come to LSU regardless of Austin Thomas.

From an Advocate article on JaCoby Stevens and family:

"But this is no Tennessee guy.

“I consider myself a Louisianan,” Stevens said. “People ask me that all of the time — Louisiana or Tennessee? I was born in Tennessee, but I have Louisiana blood flowing through my veins. If you ask me, I’ll always claim Crowley, Louisiana.”

The Stevens family, as you might imagine, is from Louisiana. And, now, they’re all back together here in the state, reunited after Stevens’ parents and sister moved with him to Baton Rouge in December.

When he enrolled early at LSU, Jeremy and Dionne Stevens and their daughter, Janai’, moved here as well, returning to the place where it all began and where the rest of their family resides — an uncle in Baton Rouge, aunts and cousins in Bogalusa and grandparents in Crowley, Jeremy and Dionne’s hometown.

“It’s kind of been surreal,” Jeremy Stevens, JaCoby’s dad, said. “For the first couple of weeks, I’m like, ‘Man, we’re back in Louisiana.’ Seeing family and friends and the weather… I’m like, ‘Damn, we’re in Louisiana!’”"

"And, now, they’re all back together, right here in Louisiana, where it all began, where JaCoby fell in love with the Purple and Gold.

It happened while 4-year-old JaCoby visited the cage of Mike the Tiger. The family returned each summer to visit family. JaCoby always knew what that meant.

“He had to see Mike the Tiger," Jeremy said, "before we left Louisiana.""

LSU does have one of the top cornerbacks in the nation committed for 2019 who happens to be from Memphis.

Maurice Hampton
Memphis University School (Memphis, TN)

National: 120 Position: 8 State: 3

Those guys are probably coaches and you just don't know it. Eaux was able to get the waiver for Pete because he was so old and not able to travel all over the country.

What would the excuse be for meatball or the new O-line coach?

The fact that UT offered two of Badara's teammates last week probably didn't hurt. He visited with his friends and teammates this weekend.

Surprisingly has an open Facebook. But he did change both his main pics to LSU stuff last night. No idea what it was before but I would take that he is not leaving.

Are you saying you are dumb enough that you expect him to get the national recruiter of the year, EVERY YEAR?

but to answer your question:
In 2013 he was the interim coach at USC.
In 2014 he was living in Louisiana and not coaching.
In 2015 he did damn good recruiting for LSU despite it being his first year. Arden Key ring a bell?
2016 - Interim HC
2017 - head coach

I don't know if a head coach is every named the national recruiter of the year, but I am not sure.

So if you take out his interim HC and HC years and the year he didn't coach, that leaves what? ONE year he didn't get accolades?

Head coaches and recruiting staffs all across the nation get very nervous when Orgeron puts his thumb on a prospect. He may not have the accolades for the last few seasons, for various reasons, but he is still a very good, highly respected recruiter who has helped develop lots of NFL talent including a handful of superstars. I may have my doubts about Orgeron on several different subjects, but I don't doubt his natural recruiting prowess.
