I don't think "attrition" is the right word for guys who played at LSU for three years and then went pro. That is five of the eight guys on your list: Toliver, Guice, Jackson, Key, Weathersby.
It always sucks to see guys like Tyron Johnson transfer and do well somewhere else (Oklahoma State). It also sucks to see guys with obvious talent flame out because of grades (Maea Teuhema). Finally, it sucks when you invest in a project player that doesn't pan out (Chidi Okeke).
But these things happen.

Wow - One of the things our LSU Tigers lack is on the field leadership. This was a regular problem under Coach Miles too. Geaux Tigers.
