2005: 37.64 1st year Crowton
2006: 29.46 2nd Year Crowton
Those numbers are a downward trend
2007: 38.15 1st year without Crowton
NCAA Stats
Check for yourself if do not believe me.

You oviously do not understand the YEAR BEFORE he got there.
They were at 25/game.. so he INCREASED that by the time he left to nearly 30/game.. and then Chip Kelly continued his improvements... it was better when he left than when he got there.. just a hint the year before he got there was 2004...

So in 2 years he took them from 102nd ranked to 14th ranked in YPG.. that is interesting.
Interesting, in 2 years he took LSU from averaging 38.6 pts a game to 19.6 pts a game and ranked 109th overall.
I don't really care what this guy did at BYU or Oregon, what matters is that he's stinking it up right now. The predictability of his play-calling is killing this offense and he's not making the proper adjustments to get this offense on track. And that IS his fault.

I understand this is Les Miles' team. But Skip Bertman is not a fool. I can't imagine this nonsense continuing for much longer. LSU DOES control their destiny! Why waste it on Crowton's feelings? GET RID OF HIM NOW!
Two things here buddy:
1.) Skip Bertman is no longer the AD of LSU sports.
2.) I have never understood the "LSU can control their own destiny" phrase...DESTINY: A predetermined course of events considered as something beyond human power or control...Now, you tell me how the LSU Football team could control something like this???

Well buddy, I can see why you can't understand this since you are thinking linearly. The fact that this needs to be explained to you is embarrassing enough:
"Control your destiny" is an idiom OFTEN used by sport commentators when a team can control (by winning) whether they make the playoffs or in this case the championship WITHOUT the aid of other teams winning or losing.
It is a common, accepted phrase. And I have to tell you, if you're going to be a-hole, at least be smart about it.
And to save you time looking up the keyword IDIOM, I'll define it for you:
An idiom is a phrase whose meaning cannot be determined by the literal definition (something that confuses you) of the phrase itself, but refers instead to a figurative meaning that is known only through common use...
And I referenced Bertman because he's still on the payroll through 2010 and has significant clout as the Athletics Director Emeritus. Like all of us, he wants LSU to win but is in a position to be influential about it.

Tell this to Auburn in 2004...FAIL!
I don't think I need to say anything else
other than take your IDIOM, and shove it!

And to save yourself further embarrassment, you shouldn't.
But to debunk your nonsense further, Auburn was never in a position to "control their own destiny" because they needed either USC or OU to LOSE since both teams were ranked in front of them the entire season (including the pre-season polls)!
To make this crystal clear: you control your own destiny when you can get into the championship by winning WITHOUT the aid of another team winning or losing.

yeah, but I bet many of those sportscasters you refer to said that "Auburn controls their own destiny after 6 games..."
This situation is why I have never understood why they get away with saying this.
THANKS!

i don't really want to get into this pissing match but
pretty sure from day 1 they were saying usc and ok were the greatest teams. one of them would have had to lose for auburn to have a chance.
i don't recall the sportscasters saying that auburn controled their own destiny.

JUST SAYING...I don't understand why they continually say it when it goes against the exact definition of the word

Just read the article for the first time, WOW that is absolutely unbelievable. You are talking about hitting the nail on the head. First year he's the Wizard, after that he's the Buzzard.

Has Crowton been fired yet? FTR, as a Utah and LSU alum, I saw first hand what he did to BYU's football program (which delighted me to no end) and I was against his hiring.

He and Miles can move on .

The most depressing thing about this is that it illustrates that normal, everyday sports fans can see that Crowton is not fit to run a D1 offense...
but Miles and the football hierarchy can't.
I see many 8-5 and 9-4 seasons in the near future for Tiger fans.
No SEC championships, no BCS bowls, no wins over ranked opponents.
Welcome to the Crow-Miles-Ton era.
