The decline started a few years ago. People who give a shite are actually trying to invest and stop the bleeding. This wasn't handled correctly but LSU is acting in their best interest. HAVE A GREAT DAY! SEE YA!

Who are these miles apologists? Are they all little kids and women? You have to take risks to accomplish great things.

No you'll just need to stop being delusional and stupid. Jimbo isn't coming, the Houston guy isn't coming, these guys are so stupid they'll probably
Hire Gruden.

Best post of the week!

This guy is spot on!

And please, stop talking about all the talent the new coach will have...

Our defense is the least talented group we have had since Dinardo was here!

No QB development, no offensive imagination, tons of penalties, bad special teams play.

I like Miles but the program IS in decline.

I agree with this. All of the arrows have been pointing down for several years whereas only some were previously. He no longer has great defenses to make up for just unbelievable bad offenses.

For someone who played on the O-line, he has really let that group go. Geez. Forget QBs...

Good-bye, Les, we hardly knew ye...

I wonder if all these chicken littles would claim the sky is falling if Les had simply announced his retirement at the end of the year and no one had hinted at a firing ever. Same goes for the media and opposing fans. Did our program die when Saban flat out quit on Christmas Day?

Every break-up is ugly but Alleva has been tight-lipped.

I'm not sure what else can be done.

Exactly. I wonder what those who are so sad that Miles is being fired would've said while we sputtered to yet another 8 win season next year with him at the helm.

They'd want to give him another year to hire a new assistant, find a QB, blame youth, etc

So wait...are you saying the new coach won't beat Bama and win the SEC next year with our roster?

The CLM Apologists are as hard headed and illogical as CLM, and sentimentality has gotten the better of them. Miles is indeed a great guy/nice guy, but he's always been and will forever be a mediocre coach. To think he could have accomplished what he did without Saban building the infrasructure is laughable. Miles brought all of this upon himself and had more than enough chances to fix it. Releasing a figure in this high-profile position is always gut-wrencing, but shame on the Apologists for using that as a reason to keep him. All out of guilt trips here. Miles is a grown man and was paid handsomely. No regrets and no guarantees. That's life.

Excellent point of view. Maybe they tried to get Miles to resign at the end of the year, but he declined? In either case, I cannot imagine that this has been coming for a while at least. The recent three game slide just brought things to a head. The boil will now be lanced and the bad humors released so the healing process may proceed.

All I have against Miles is his performance of late and the irrelevance of LSU in the national picture in any sense late in the year.

The funny thing is whoever is the new coach could be only as good or even worse than Miles and he will get a pass because he isn't Miles. I hope he is a great success but I hope all you folks that wanted Miles run out of town know that the odds are not favorable that LSU will, because of a coaching change, become the beast of the SECW.

You speak as if Les Miles has been setting the world on fire. We've got a mediocre program as it stands. A bunch of "NFL talent" year after year but 3+ guaranteed losses to go with it.
