When they ran the option with Fields, there were massive holes to run through.

Kirby said Aranda made adjustments, which is why they got away from it..

If Burrow is legitimately the 28th best QB in the country this year, I'd be ecstatic about what that probably means for our results.

Ehlinger is TOUGH and he's a winner. I'd be comfortable saying Joey Football and Ehlinger are the two toughest QB's in cfb. Both will punish you.

Did you account for the competition they played ?

Of course not, that would erase your narrative of bashing LSU.

Idk if you remember the actual game but Holyfield was running all over us.

And they stopped using him... Very strange strategy.........

By the end of the season, LSU's strength of schedule was #4 & UT was #12. The gap isn't that big.

It’s well documented that O called up to Aranda and they adjusted the Dline formation, which shut Holyfield down. UGA didn’t just go away from him, LSU adjusted

Is it?

UGA 0 - LSU 0

Holyfield - 0 yds

UGA 0 - LSU 3

Holyfield - 17 yds
Holyfield - 2 yds
Holyfield - 9 yds

UGA 0 - LSU 10

No touches

UGA 0 - LSU 13

No touches

UGA 0 - LSU 16

Holyfield - 5 yds

UGA 0 - LSU 16

No touches

UGA 0 - LSU 16

No touches

UGA 3 - LSU 16

No touches

UGA 3 - LSU 19

Holyfield - 13 yds
Holyfield - 10 yds (TD)

UGA 9 - LSU 19

No touches

UGA 9 - LSU 29

No touches

UGA 16 - LSU 29

Holyfield - 7 yds on a pass

Looks an awful lot like UGA and Kirby simply went away from him on their own, regardless of what he said post game.

We started to slow up Swift, but Holyfield had our number. He inexplicably only had 7 rushes.

Talk to any UGA fan and they'll be foaming at the mouth talking about how Kirby stopped feeding Holyfield.

why the hell does it matter?

Quarterbacks do not "face off" against each other.

This isn't even a shot at you moreso just a rant about how stupid and outdated that train of thought is.

I'd be far more concerned with the rankings of the defenses Burrow will be facing, not "BURROW VS. TUA PART 2: THIS TIME ITS PERSONAL".

I'm not sure if he was enough to win, but I had to chuckle when someone mentioned that Orgeron called up to Aranda and fixed the Holyfield problem.

A) As if Aranda wasn't aware Holyfield was gashing us.

B) We didn't stop Holyfield. Kirby did.

Yeah, lets disregard what the HC said and come up with our own theories!

They aren't theories when you have actual data. The option with Fields was doing great well into the 2nd half. The issues came up when they would put Fromm in the game and couldn't get anything going in the passing game. By that point, luckily LSU was able to get at least a FG in their multiple red zone visits to where there was a big enough gap that Kirby felt like he needed to pass every down.

Don't be this obtuse Roger. Kirby was covering his arse. The facts are posted in this thread - we didn't stop Holyfield.

Holyfield's first 4 runs: 28 yards

His last 3? 28 yards

But Kirby said we made adjustments to stop Holyfield so it must be true.

You have data on yardage. You don't have data on the defensive scheme LSU trotted out in the second half.
