At this point how much longer will the wait be?

Can the players and coaches afford to wait a few more weeks? With offseason workouts starting, how much more time can they take to hire a DC before the defense is behind schedule?

It’s just workouts they can’t do anything football related with coaches right now anyway.

Im sure if we had a coach the players could atleast be able to have a playbook.

Champion programs build the plays for the players. See Sark for D. Lee this year as an example. There is, and shouldn't be, a playbook at this point in the year.

My assumption is that the opening will just hang in the air open with no updates until we get too close to spring practice to make a hire and then promote Raymond as the “temporary” coordinator like ensminger was and then have another trash season.

The wait will be over when it is over. It's not Ed O's fault that Freeman's wife vetoed the job and it's not Ed O's fault that Sean Payton vetoed Nielsen from taking the job. Crap happens.

For who? You. People act like the freaking sky is falling. We will get a defensive coach in here and the defense will be ok. Basic football skills have not changed for these players since HS. Schemes get a little more advanced, but a rip,a swim move, are a stunt is the same no matter who teaches it. I'd certainly prefer a DC sooner rather than later, but I really want them to get this right.
For the players, this is Moffitt time. I'm sure they're doing some football studying but this is really the time to get healthy and get stronger.
The only rush I feel is to ensure that the open spots on the roster (unsigned recruits) are filled accordingly. Without a DC, some potential targets may be a little restless.

How can you POSSIBLY just assume that this is the case? It wasn't the case with EITHER coordinator spot last year.
Think about that for a second: We needed to fill both the OC and DC positions, and we wound up with Bo Pelini and thats it. To suggest that its a foregone conclusion that we will be fine is absolutely delusional.
