I would have liked Tyson's sack numbers to look better, too, but I think you will see come draft time that the NFL knows why they weren't.

And it wasn't due to lack of ability. There is a reason that Alem's numbers were that good as a reserve.

Tyson Jackson was the focus of attention for opposing OC's.

I know this because I know one that we faced.

k, thanks.. Do you see a problem with Alem rushing to hard up the field, seems like he can take himself out of the play if they run to his side..

He was famous for biting on the dive.

Why do you think he was a reserve?

That being said, we're all looking for great things from him this year, and his Chick-Fil-A game performance was very encouraging.

The defense had a breakdown in the chain of command.

This part has been fixed.

There are other issues, but it's up to the opposition to find them.

Good luck.

I know the coaching was sub-par but as a player you should want to beat the man in front of you every play..

I'm certain every player wanted to beat the man in front of him on every play.

But when you're not sure if you're supposed to be on the field, then when you get there, who your man is, and the answers are coming after film review, it's not a lot of help in the heat of battle.

So you are saying it was coaching??
I say it was both, I think the players thought it was going to be easier than it was to be dominate, especially the D-Line..

what time was the scrimmage? was it during the baseball game? if so...why would you go to the scrimmage over the baseball game?

The players don't get a pass.

It's next to impossible to repeat as champions at this level. From coaches on down.

The coaching staff dropped the ball after this championship, just like the one before. I'm not pissed about it. I expected a drop-off, especially when you're talking about the inexperience at the QB position, and esp. in the SEC.

But the lack of preparation on the defensive side of the ball, including even the fundamentals, was inexcusable. If you haven't noticed, there's been a few changes on the staff on that side of the ball.

agree, i was just expecting the d-line to be great with all the pre-season hype..
This year looks like it will be what we all are looking for.. no more 50 pts games...

read the link. Who was fumbling the ball so much? And who was dropping passes b/c Miles seemed to be complimentary of several WR's?

from the videos I've seen, I really like the attention to technique and detail being taught on the defensive side of the ball.
