How much does a coach think of a school's potential then to leave his current school when they're about to make a playoff run, to essentially walk away from the 6 years of building that program and never look back and say, "Let's go" - and land at LSU. What on earth did Lane Kiffin see to make that jump. It was not the money so that's moot.

That is what makes me more excited than the x's and o's and wins and losses. Kiffin sees something much more than the immediate. He has to be looking at the future and what that could be - I know he's said it, but this man is going to do something unique and while I thought he'd be an interesting hire, I had no idea that he was this capable.

It's going to be alot of fun....

He didn’t leave. He was forced out before the end of the season.

Here’s the truth.

Kiffin wants to have a dominate run. Like Saban, or at least like his mentor, Carol.

He knew to have that kind of sustained success, you have to be at a top program. So that was always gonna be the goal.

I don’t think Lane thought LSU or bust, I just think he wanted to find a place that was set up to give him the best chance to achieve greatness and we were already on that shortlist - the timing then made it perfect.

So, while I think he would have also gladly taken the Bama job if given the same situation, I don’t think he’s going anywhere, regardless of any job opening up.

He’s here now for the long haul. He knows he’s not gonna find a better set up to build a program.

He has said a few times about how he wanted to be at a place with raised expectations.

As I’ve said before, he came to LSU because he wants to be a legend on the same level as Saban. Who knows whether he can climb that mountain, but knowing he wants it and seems willing to work towards it is about all you can reasonably ask from a coach.

I don’t think they can get much higher than here. Hell, some folks wanted to shitcan Lane during the Ole Piss game . He definitely got what he was looking for.

Amen! May we all see what Lane sees and may LSU and all of Louisiana fulfill that dream! Make it real
