Not buying that.

Still, many LSU players have and have had children. Should not be a knock against Richardsons character.

For fricks sake tell your wife he's a kid. College kids make tons of mistakes. It's all part of the maturation process.

I heard TR on the SVP show and he sounded awful. Even when asked who he would vote for Heisman he said himself. Much like his coach would. It is why we must Beat Bama.

Ok...TM7 using synthetic weed is surely an off-the-field issue....but impregnating your girlfriend who is a minor is not?? We'll see if he steps up to the plate and marries this girl and is a father to these two unfortunate kids that had no choice in the matter. Way too many single black mothers out there.

A) its not like its the only interview I've seen of either of them.
B) since you wanna bring background into it with your genius job reference analogy then I would most certainly hire the person without the failed drug test on his resume'. I just made a spot judgement call that you're not the sharpest knife in the drawer for failing to follow up on the background check.
C) I'm not taking anything away from TM7. He's by far my favorite college player to date. He's an electrifying talent and he's about to break school records in his sophmore season and I'm happy ill get to watch him for at least one more season as a tiger. As far as heisman goes, I'll be looking for him next year.

If TM7 and TR were not great ball players, most of you on here would consider them thugs. 20 year olds haven't lived longed enough to be considered great people.

I was really impressed with Trent Richardson's ESPN heisman interview and how he carried himself speaking highly of the other candidates and his fanbase.

None of us have the ability to see inside your crowded brain to know whether you have other thoughts inside.

You mentioned that you based your opinion on that interview and my reply was based on that.

It is not genius to use a job reference - it is common sense.
The failed drug test as you claim
1. Not verified ( no statement by school, no case lodged with the police and none given by friends or family)-would not show up in any check.
2. I would certainly not want to be hired by a naive ignoramus like you , given that
a. you are given to illogical rebuttals
b. you didn't investigate the full background to know whether there was a valid issue.
c even if you call morality or legality into it - you didn't care about sex with a minor as a greater offense when deciding the "class" of TR over Mathieu.

I agree with this but not with your rationale for lower class, legal/moral issues and whether deserving of a heisman.

PS before it derails into a anti-TR discussion- I have nothing for or against him. The points mentioned were to prove the lack of cogent arguments on your part.

Seriously. Him and Russell Wilson from Wisconsin may be the 2 best interviews I've ever heard in college football.

word. I thought Montee was pretty damn good the other night as well.

Maybe those that speak well on camera are comfortable talking about themselves and do it on a regular basis. Maybe those that don't interview as well in public, would rather talk shite to their competitors on the field, and really don't care to speak of themselves in public.

I thin RGIII wins it and HB comes in third.

Issue*
(as in singular)

Also a team violation that is not even punished at most schools. Did not break the law. He smoked synthetic weed. Not even an NCAA violation. Missed a whopping total of 1 game.

TM7 has matured so much of lately. If you noticed in the UGA game he wasn't even talking smack.. he was also offering help to the UGA players on the ground.

If you listen to TM7's interviews of late he has had every bit of class and respect.

Richardson DOES NOT deserve the heisman. He did not have a heisman worthy season. TM7 has actually had a more impressive season ON THE FIELD, but I believe RG3 will win it.

I yield. Both of them impress me. TM7 has matured greatly throughout the season and I respect TR for continuing his pursuit of a degree. Off the field issues aside I think they both represent SEC football well.

To be honest , my arguments would have been a bit tempered had it not been for the spate of articles and posts that seem to concentrate on the one episode (with no written confirmation anywhere) of a student trying some dope in school.

The whole discussion could be about Mathieu in the heisman or as a CB or a playmakers or part of LSU's run or even a bloody painting but they just HAVE to insert that issue in there.

There are lot of articles about Trent richardson and others but they don't mention any immoral/illegal activities by any of them and that is unfair to Mathieu when the scales of the media are tilted against him.

Have you ever heard RG3 interview? Take him away from BU and they don't even make a bowl game. Can you say the same thing about Trent? RG3 will take home the award and he's very deserving. I'm glad to see the winner come from a team that isn't considered a media darling.

I don't believe it would've been such a hot topic issue if it hadn't been for the suspensions of JJ, RS, and Johns. There's no press like bad press. Look at Cam Newton last year. But when you look at TM7 the beginning of this year with the trash talking and confrontations and stuff (not that I minded it personally, its how he got pumped up) and you look at him now post suspension he seems like a completely different player without losing any of his athleticism. It got his mind right. He's gonna be just as amazing next year.
