We are poised to finish 10-2
--------------
helluva assumption you are making there .. let's see if it holds up before you keep congratulating Miles. I sure hope you are right but don't have any confidence left in Les ... sorry.

hell, miles has a better rep outside the circle of lsu. let me clarify; there is a contingent on here that hate him; he can do nothing right. they must lay awake at night thinking of stuff. i don't understand it either, but i will say that those that are adament, i don't respect theri football knowledge at all. they wouldn't be happy with anyone (except saban). doesn't matter if miles outperforms saban. facts don't seem to matter to this group.

My question to you and to others on the rant though is 10-2 with losses to Alabama and Flodrida good enough for you year in and year out?

miles has won plenty of big games and will win more, including beating bama and UF.

"it's the vocal minority"

it is. the lsu fans i know personally (a ton) are not this way. oh, they also aren't students, have jobs, are parents (or grandparents) and have a lot of life experiences. many actually played football or another sport at a fairly high level and have an understanding of how a college team works.

it is the 2nd year trend of not beating ranked teams that worries me.. I will be very happy if Les turns this around. If not, then we need a new direction.

I am in agreement with you. Not many years ago, a 10-2 season would have been a really big deal for LSU. I think LSU fans have become spoiled to a greater or lesser degree. Personally, I like the way Miles takes care of business with class.

I'm not saying he should be fired. I'm saying it's very frustrating to lose football games when you have superior, or at the very least, equal talent.
I lived through the lean years and before, and know how rare championship teams are. And to see the program built to championship level and then squandered by poor coaching is more than frustrating.

Do you honestly believe LSU's talent AND experience this year is equal or superior to Alabama's and Florida's? Good grief. See how many NFL scouts you can find to agree with you.

The fact is that Miles had LSU in position to control its own destiny going into the Alabama game. How many other teams outside of Alabama, Florida and Texas could say that heading into the 9th week of the season? Do you truly find it realistic for LSU to play in the SEC Championship and NC games every year?

I want to see LSU in the SEC and NC Championship games every season too, but the reality is that that level of production is not going to happen every year. What program can you name me that accomplishes that? None.

Great initial post.

Georgia and Auburn have both been ranked.

The Florida game was a horrid coaching job, and we arguably have superior talent to Alabama

Not on the OL & DL.

That, late in the game, was the difference.

I think the problem is that you are confusing bandwagoners with true LSU fans.

I understand that its a minority of fans; but I am just sick of logging on to TigerDroppings & reading some of this BS. More than that, its getting noticed by other fan boards & some media outlets. It just really seems to me that some of these "fans" enjoy it more when LSU loses than succeeds, because they can then sit back and say "told you so."

I mean for God's sake, someone actually started a thread arguing that LSU would be better off with RICH RORDRIGUEZ as the coach!!!

You have to understand that 99% of these bashers have never played a down of organized football.
It's easier to blame the coach. Those of us who have played realize that our failure to execute what our coaches taught us is the reason we lostmost of the time.
SFP,Maximus, and HBT are prime examples constant critics who have no understanding of what coaches do at practice.
Alcohol and other drugs bolster the courage of many critics to post outlandish garbage.
Most fans understand how difficult it is to win a SECCG or NC.
Look at the loses Carroll has at USC. He loses to teams with much less talent.
Look at Stoops,Tressell,Davis,Saban,and Pelini.
They feel if Tigers lose,it proves how smart they are re football.
Boards like this attract all kinds.

Is it wrong to want what Bama and Florida have; rather, don't have? What's wrong with wanting to be undefeated?

I know it's hard but there are teams who accomplish that so it's not out of the box.

We're 7-2, 4-2, with the two losses to the top 2 teams in the country, each game decided by 10 points or fewer. And we gave to those teams as good as we got (holding the No. 1 team in the nation to its lowest score in 5 years).

We are poised to finish 10-2, go to a New Year's Day bowl, and perhaps finish ranked in the Top 5 in the country.
While this is all good and dandy, alot of people feel cheated out of playing for a National Championship. Can you blame 'em?

Great post Kappa...
I ve heard it all before..offense is boring, defense is soft, we should be unbeatable since we have so much more talent than anybody else... and it was all said about Cholly Mac, the winningest coach in LSU history..

And for those of you hare never happy about anything, I have just 3 words..

Archer..Hallman.. Dinardo

There's nothing wrong with wanting it...we all want it. What is wrong is expecting it every year and when it doesn't happen the idiots on here go apeshit and want everyone fired.

Yes. National Title or bust is stupid. I thought Texas' baseball team looked like a bunch of horse's behinds making such a big deal about using the "second place trophy" to open the men's room door. Dumbarses.

Sure, everyone wants to win the title, but if its a failure the years you don't,every fan who feels that way is going to be disappointed a lot.
