The negative fans like yourself are what is affecting the program.

I understand both sides of this argument. We're all very frustrated and begging for answers that may never come. I'm proud of my degree, my school, and my football team (coaches, players, and all those associated with the team and athletic department)and all of its accomplishments. That being said, we are, after all, a public university that is being partially funded by tax payer dollars - albeit a diminishing amount every year (but that's another subject for another day). My point is that all public entities-universities, government agencies, etc..- must remain transparent in all their transactions and business decisions. Does this or does this not include our athletic department and the recent events that have affected our football program ? Does this information remain in-house and is that healthy for the future of this program? I say this as I watch Gunner Kiel leaving for Notre Dame. We need answers. Hopefully the 3pm presser will help.

Now seven years into his reign as head coach at LSU, Les Miles has guided the Tiger football program to its most successful stretch - both on and off the field - in the history of the sport at the school. With 75 victories, two SEC titles and a second appearance in the BCS National Championship Game, LSU's success since the start of the 2005 season is unmatched in college football. In the classroom, LSU ranks second in the SEC in the most recent release of graduation rates as 139 Tigers have earned their degree under Miles' watch. On the field, LSU's 75 victories over the past seven years are the most in the SEC during that span.
As Miles prepares to take the Tigers to New Orleans for a shot at claiming a second national title under his watch, he's already guided LSU to a season full of firsts with a 13-0 record, a school-record eight wins over Top 25, a school-record 12 wins by double-figures and 11 straight weeks as the nation's No. 1 ranked team. Throw in five first-team All-Americas, two national award winners, and a Heisman Trophy finalist and the 2011 season ranks as the most successful in school history.

I love how every rantard speaks for the masses.

if enough boosters and alumni/season ticket holders start screaming for Miles' head to be on the chopping block, it will subsequently happen

The only game that matters this year, you jackass!

Really???
"We on this rant" have been melting down for a week now because our football team lost 1 game out of 14. 1 game to a great team full of NFL prospects.
"We on this rant" are melting down because a young kid changed his mind because his parents want him to be closer to home while at college.
"We on this rant" have, at least a decent portion, asked for LM to be fired(not saying you did) because of this one loss.
Fact is we are a bunch of people with a keyboard and a obsession with LSU football/sports in general and we do not think before we start rantarded threads...like this one.
As stated previously, by myself, WAIT UNTIL 3PM and Les Miles's press conference!

Posted on 1/17/12 at 1:44 pm to ibleedprplngld
I hope that Les is announcing that he is leaving to coach somewhere else and all the rantards can jump up and down and then proceed to the Stooge circus of the Curly Hallman days! As any coach worth his salt would say WTF 13 - 1 BCS NC game and this is how they react. Pulleeeas!
You rantards don't deserve a winner!

The athletic department is self funded and does not take 1 dollar of tax money...in fact, it contributes an increasing amount to the school itself. Sooo, no....they answer to no one.

You are full of S**t! If you do not go 13-0 you do not even get to the "only game that matters". Sorry Les's record is 1-1 in the "only game that matters".
